Product Description
An ultra-minimal pullover that’s ideal for climbing, trail running, and early-morning commutes, the Outdoor Research Whirlwind hoody combines the breathability of a midlayer with the wind resistance of an outer shell. Woven from a polyester-and-spandex blend, the hoody has considerable stretch, so it won’t restrict your movement during climbs or runs Read More

After unsuccessful last drop I bought Whirlwind hoody somewhere else. It is indeed very lightweight but seems to be durable and can be great for layering in warmer weather. It's too thin for winter use. Packs pretty well too. Windstopping is moderate. I used it this spring as a mountain bike jersey replacement on windy days and still going to use it occasionally now on colder days. It's great backpacking / bikepacking garment. Not sure though if I would take both this hoody and lightweight rain jacket in one trip, because lightweight rain jacket like OR Hellium will work both as windstopper and rain protection.
Found a good review here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NsLDiROBcIc Seems to be a bit lighterweight than I think of hoodies a
s. Kind of like in between a windshirt weight and hoody weight.

EverythingIsBetterOutdoorsThat's actually good for layering. A lightweight packable wildshirt in pull-over format, suitable both for warm and cold weather.

Why is it that when they give size info for upper body garments, they neglect to give the arm length!

I can't be "wrong" for simply considering something. If I concluded something, then I could indeed be wrong, but right or wrong isn't the point anyway. If there's an unanswered question about details in a Massdrop listing, then the manufacturer and/or Massdrop are the only sources who can give a definitive answer to it. Or at least I personally wouldn't count on any answer from anonymous posters who claim to know one way or the other what the true and accurate answer is. For some reason, both you and the previous poster to whom I replied, have taken exception to my deigning to try to surmise an explanation to the conflicting details of the drop. My first post was a surmisal, not a conclusion. Massdrop or OR should provide the accurate answer, not me.
