wiemerimerAre Teals basically, Outemu's Cherry Green equivalent? Because I might be interested in that. I've been playing with the Gateron Greens and Browns, and I'm pretty unimpressed by them TBH, especially compared to the Outemu Blue's that came in my Z-88...

Outemu Teals are probably closest to Cherry Green Outemu Blue to Kailh Green (or a heavy Cherry Blue) Outemu Purple to Zealio (or Cherry Clear)

wiemerimerThis isn't true about the purples, however you are correct about the rest of the switches. The Outemu purples are more comparible to Gateron Browns than zealios, although they are slightly more tactile than browns. The smoothness is between a Gateron and Cherry switch, so it's not bad for a stock switch.

Massdrop should be (and is, AFAIK) focussing more on exclusive items. Which is what groupbuys are really meant for.

Gimli123262Yep! Bought some Outemu purples back in May from Novelkeys. They are great tactile switches and they come with hot sockets and white bottom housing thats SMD compatible. Speaking of tactile switches, you guys should try Kailh Copper speed switches! By far my fav tactile if you're on a budget!
Unfortunately, no teals and purples in this drop. But, you guys seems really interested in purples so here's some pics:

HikasakiI don't know if it's how they're supposed to be, but the bag of Coppers I just got has the tactile bump right at the top of the travel. Start pressing the key and you IMMEDIATELY hit the bump. The pressure point is supposed to be at 1.4mm from what I've read, but yeah, it's not. I may have to play around and mix and match my Greetechs, Aristotles, and Coppers to see what works best for everything.

HikasakiAny thoughts on the potential of the Heavy Coppers from NovelKeys? The stock Coppers sound nice but may be a bit light when coming from something like an ErgoClear.

RuhRohI've spoken with the owner of Novelkeys about this. He says that as expected, there is less tactility in the switch. This is normal, with adding weight to a tactile switch. He also says that the bronzes are less tactile slightly and the click stays about the same, which I would expect.

RuhRohIn my experience, Coppers feels light at first before bump then heavier towards bottoming out. It feels perfect for me, but if you need something heavier I would definitely pick up the heavier variant from Novelkeys or just change the springs if you already have Coppers. 65g or 67g would be ideal imo.

HikasakiThat sounds like a good plan. I haven't picked up any Coppers yet, but the sockets on my GK64 are thirsty to try many different switches. Might get the Heavies for the color and spring weight, and just swap down if they turn out too stiff.

wiemerimerActually, I also have the Kailh Coppers, that's how they're supposed to be. Copper, Bronze and Silver actuate at 1.1mm, the Gold's (Clicky) actuate at 1.4mm.
