If this were selling for full price, I'd warn everyone against it. But for just $29, it might be worth picking up for a Robotech fan. Bear in mind that the minis have been criticized for coming in dozens of little pieces -- you will spend days with tweezers and glue putting them all together -- and turning out a bit "meh" at the end. But for the price, I'd say this is the first time I've seen this game offered at a fair value.
(Also, there's no way that Palladium isn't losing money on this deal. This is clearly a closeout/selloff to recoup what little money they can. So I don't think anyone has to worry about the morality of spending money on this, as the only ones making a profit here are probably Massdrop -- not Palladium, who shafted their Kickstarter backers TERRIBLY in this campaign.)
