Just as a follow up, as i expected, the G7 went into sale in all mayor US retailers, now its going for $497, this was the reason imo that the drop should have been to $419, same as it was last time.

520$ or 510$ is a very high price, it was on sale for 450$ last Black Friday and from the comments in here, the last drop was 420$ It's expensive and not much price difference from Amazon or B&H.

Any chance we get the old drop price of $419 ? The G9 is about to be announced on Nov 6, so this camera will be on sale soon on most camera places, i would join the drop for old drop price, but $509 without a lens is too expensive considering the old drop and the current replacement on a very short time frame.

Just received the camera! Battery is charging, but everything looks fine so far. I was a little scared with the lack of info before joining the drop, I saw some complaints, shipping issues etc... Everything worked perfectly for me
I'm really happy as I got it 9 days before I was expecting. Would deal with them again
Here's my timeline : 2017-03-03 - Joined the Drop $419 + $35 (Shipping to Canada) (expecting to be delivered on March 29th) 2017-03-09 - Drop ended 2017-03-10 - Group order submitted. Shipping expected to be on March 29th 2017-03-18 - Bulk order shipped from vendor to Massdrop warehouse 2017-03-20 - Camera shipped to Montreal 2017-03-22 - Camera arrived - Carrier UPS. Duty/Taxes $95 ($72 usd)
I got a little scared when I googled " The receiver must pay the duties or taxes due on the package" after receiving it from UPS. People were saying UPS charges up to 50% of the value for brokerage, but looks it's included on the shipping from Massdrop.
Paid $700cad total. I could've bought one here with kit lens for around $1200cad (tax included) , but I'm already plenty of lenses, so I decided to take the shot.

Yep... But since I'll film mostly in 24p, I don't mind. There's a way to switch to NTSC, if you need it. Check the video below

PaulSantosThanks for sharing, I am ok with using this "hack", just was curious how come they ship the camera in North America with European settings. It's more about getting the expectations: what if i'm not so techny, and can't change it...

ITJ-StudioMost Panasonic lenses have Optical Image Stabilization which is useful since the sensor isn't stabilized.

jazzman0451Speedbooster? Why not just buy the size lens you intend to shoot? What's spherical aberration like on these? I've tried kludges like this in the past and they're always problematic in some form or another....
