PCIe-ssd? PCIe-hdd? Both of those make me wonder what else is wrong with these specs.

Hello All,
Due to the fact that we are not able to provide you with the correct information and specs on these Toughbooks we will be shutting this drop down.
We will circle back around once we have had clear communication with the vendor and hopefully we will be able to offer these again in the near future.
We do apologize for any inconvenience this has caused.

The specs on these laptops are totally wrong. Not a single one of these models has a 5th gen I5. The closest is a 4th gen. This drop needs to come down and be fact checked before reposting. You guys are going to have some SEROUSLY pissed off people if you proceed with this.

Hi JoroCorona
It seems there was some miscommunication between us and MassDrop in regards to the specs on these listings. We have been made aware of the other issues with the listings and have corrected them with Mass Drop, we are currently waiting for the changes to be applied to the listings.

The chances of any of these being warranty returns are pretty low. Most likely they were bought ir leased, used briefly, and then returned. They can't be sold as new, so they're being sold as refurbished.
I still wouldn't buy one, but that's only because I don't need the ruggedness and the specs are absolutely not worth the cost otherwise.

Something is not ok here, its a refurbished product that was designed not to break, with specs that dont add up and to top it all, at high price for those specs.
its a hard sell if you ask me.

Cferrer1983Hi Cferrer1983
Even Fully Rugged Portable PC's can suffer some cosmetic wear and tear after some time of use in extreme conditions. Our Panasonic Toughbooks are listed as "Refurbished" due to the items being used at one point, having minor cosmetic damage and needing to update or replace any internal hardware on older models. Our certified technicians inspect and correct all of these damages and hardware issues to ensure that your refurbished Toughbook works just as well as a new one would.
Thank You and Have a Great Day!

Cferrer1983Ultra-durable laptops are a niche product meant to satisfy the needs of a very niche customer base (e.g. scientific study in the frigid temperatures of Antarctica). As such, they typically command high prices even with relatively lackluster specs when compared to the rest of the market. However, given the specs at this price point, I'd say it's a pretty good deal if you're one of the few people who need ultra-durable laptops.

There's something funny, almost poetic about selling refurbished things designed not to break

Zac_LeeRefurbished does not mean they were broken and fixed. Most of these come from leases that have ended and companies have to turn them in. They get refurbished and upgraded. Refurbishing may include changing or adding memory, replacing a hard drive with a new hard drive, updating with a new operating system, etc...

"5th-gen Core i5 2540M with an NVME SSD" sounds incorrect regardless.
