Is Panzera another Dartmouth Brands brand?
So far we have:
- AVI-8 - Spinnaker - James McCabe - DuFa - Thomas Earnshaw - Ballast - Fjord
And perhaps Panzera?
Darthmouth creates a new brand for every niche market, most using Miyota movements and all made in Hong Kong by Solar Time, as far as I can tell.
Edit: I'm reading that Panzera is an Australian brand. I wonder who makes their watches? Does Solar Time do OEM manufacturing? I can"t find any information on their website about where the watches are made, and there are no factory photos.

BrankobNo ... I don't work for anybody. I've been outing Solar Time and Dartmouth on any discussion for their watches, and I mistakenly thought I had found another of their brands here. Most people, including me, get a negative impression when they learn that a company is concealing the true source of their product using many brand names, all designed to give the appearance the brand is from the U.K. If Solar Time is so great, why not build a brand on that?
As for Panzera, I quickly learned that they were Australian from a post on a watch review blog and corrected my post here.
@gypso, @Brankob:
1. Panzera doesn't make the Miyota movement. They may be doing what Weiss Watch Company is doing with their imported ETA movements, which is disassembling them, decorating, reassembling, casing them up, oiling, and calibrating them.
2. They may be manufacturing the case, face, crown, crystal, and perhaps the bands in their factory or via Australian contractors. For Weiss, they had to use Swiss screws for a while even when they were using Los Angeles-made cases, although they later started making their own screws. Weiss eventually cloned the ETA 6497, but even then they had to use imported mainsprings from Switzerland.
There's a program called "Australian Made" that if Panzera would join would clarify things. For a very reasonable licensing fee Panzera could have their Australian content audited and certified and then they could use labeling that clearly showed the origin of their products.
Full disclosure: I have no connection to Dartmouth Brands, Solar Time, Panzera, Australian Made, and Weiss Watch Company.
