Paul Evans was founded by a couple of guys with one goal: make stylish, comfortable shoes using the highest-quality materials they could find. Handcrafted in Naples, Italy, the Cagney cap-toe Oxfords are that exactly. Each pair features a full-grain Italian calfskin leather upper with double-blind stitching on the toe and vamp for a super-clean look. Built with a Blake construction, they’re painted by hand and ready to serve as the foundation of your dress shoe collection.

Sizing Information

Most Paul Evans shoes run a full size larger than traditional US dress shoes. This isn’t uncommon, as most Italian shoe brands (including Gucci, Salvatore Ferragamo, and Tod’s) run larger than US brands. This means you’ll want to order one size below your regular dress shoe size; for example, if you wear a size 10 in Allen Edmonds, get a size 9 in this shoe. If you know your Brannock device size, subtract 1.5 sizes from that measurement to arrive at your Paul Evans size. When assessing the fit, your focus should be on how well your heel sits in the shoe, whether there is enough width across the widest part of your toe, and whether you can walk comfortably. Minor heel slippage is normal at first, as the shoes will take a few wears to conform to your feet. There will always be room past your toes—that’s just how Paul Evans lasts are designed—so resist the urge to push down where the front of your toes are.
