How does the 20L compare to a 30L? I'm looking for a bag to use as my camera bag, but also have it function as my travel bag. So I'd have my camera + 2-3 lenses (probably Sigma 18-35, Tokina 11-20, and maybe a Prime or smaller zoom [not a 70-200]), plus maybe a few clothes and knickknacks. Not too much stuff.
If you have 20L, do you think it's too small to use as a main backpack for a 2-3 day trip (not camping trip, just a smaller trip upstate to a cabin or something, or a trip over-seas where I'll also have luggage and this being my carry-on)? Perhaps the 30L might be better?

1771711If you get a 20L and don't have one of those rollup bags for additional items, you'd be better off with the 30L. Although that depends entirely upon what you decide to stuff inside your carry on. I couldn't really throw in much after filling up the bag with gear.

1771711I also participated in Peak Design's Kickstarter campaign last year and bought the 20L version of this, the Sling bag (use this a lot) and the Tote bag (no clue why I even got this). I travel internationally multiple times a year and with the 20L, I will have to take a second smaller carry-on with me. So, if I wanted to carry-on just one piece, I take a bigger backpack, which is my Think Tank Shape Shifter 17 (https://www.thinktankphoto.com/collections/shape-shifter/products/shape-shifter-17-v2-0). If I were you, I'll go for the 30L version. You don't need to use all that space, but it's nice to have it if/when you need to use it.

1771711For most airlines Carry-on bag: The maximum dimensions for a carry-on bag are 9 inches x 14 inches x 22 inches (22 cm x 35 cm x 56 cm), including handles and wheels.
