MassDrop, please be careful for these "bait and switch" deals where they offer too few items to your many customers, so the customers have to buy from another website at full price. It is just cheap advertising, which most companies would like. They probably make 60 beanies in 4 hours tops, and the discount price is still well over 600% markup. Overall, I always thought yak hair is a little too rough, and I will just stick to Turtle fur products, which has never let me down.

fishbite@fishbite - Thanks for your post, but I have to admit that I'm a bit confused by it. Please read through the drop page and the notes and let me know where we are switching you to a different product? It's actually pretty funny that you accused us of that, yet you're comparing this high end yak/merino piece to a mass-produced synthetic Turtle Fur.
It is quite unfortunate that we ran out of stock of the beanies, you're right. It's bad for us, the manufacturer, and our members. But you can't buy this product at another site - the world supply is literally sold out right now as we had it all reserved for this drop. We'll talk with Peak to Plateau about making more for us, but it will take weeks or months likely.
Finally, let's try to avoid speculation on markup and production time. Also, I'm not sure you can compare this ultrafine yak wool to the traditional rough yak wool that you've tried. That's like saying you don't like Icebreaker clothing because your grandfather's wool sweater from 60 years ago was itchy. I have the samples of the beanie and neckwarmer, and they're every bit as soft as modern 100% merino wool. I think you would be impressed.
This is an open forum, and I appreciate your point of view. And I am not picking on Turtle Fur as they do make some great products - we have talked to them about working with us. I am curious as to what yak wool products have you tried? I've only heard for Peak to Plateau and Kora (from Europe). Thanks again!
