I don't know why everyone is so upset about this drop, I have a pebble and I love it. I see this as a last chance to get one for those of you who don't have one yet, because honestly they are way better then any of the alternatives in my opinion. Also even if pebble stops supporting this watch, other people have created a new thing that should take advantage of the old store, and create new software for it. If I didn't already have one, I would definitely get in on this.

derhpMaybe because the company went out of business and service expected to stop working by the end of the year?

drrjvWhat I'm saying is that other people are developing new firmware for it, and IMO it's still the best smartwatch in terms of battery life and functionality.

derhpMass Drop should make that known. I'm sure some people are buying these closeouts thinking they are still being supported by Pebble (or Fitbit), which they are not.
PS: I have a Pebble and an Apple Watch - the Apple Watch runs circles around the Pebble IMO (my Pebble is gathering dust in the draw presently - Collector's Kickstarter version :-)

drrjvWhile there is some merit to the idea that Massdrop should be up front with Pebbles demise, this is an enthusiasts community. Nothing about shopping for discounted prices removes the responsibility of the consumer to perform their due diligence and actually know the product they are buying. I would suggest that the person buying this just because it was half off is doing themselves a disservice.
Sometimes, the forums remind me of the days back in high school with the student hall monitor blowing their whistle when kids run in the hallway. We don't have to scream bloody murder every time a piece of information is missing on the front page.
That's what the discussion is for.

drrjvYes. They give us a Discussion area so we can speak for ourselves...and learn. It's not just for complaints and gotchas (however convenient it may seem).
There are appropriate times to complain and there are appropriate times to inform.

mass_seanThat is exactly why I check the forum. Even if they put a disclaimer on there, it wouldn't most likely have a long extension about the potential of it being supported by individuals through their own updates. This, giving me a completely different type of intrigue and interest in purchasing this item. Too many different opinions on the purpose of a discussion board. Thank you for your opinions!
