SikthSo you'd rather have precut foam in a case where items are supposed to fit snugly? You must realize unless you have items that are perfectly shaped to fit inside the pre-cut holes, this case becomes significantly less useful. You can get this on amazon for $38. Removing your own pluck-foam in a pelican case is ridiculously easy and requires no tools.

ZildjianIn that case you don’t need them to fit snugly. Obviously never had the nalpak pelican cases. If you did, you know how well they work. Sure pick and pluck works easy, but they are no where near the quality of the nalpak cases. They fit close to perfect.

ZildjianAnd if you want pick and pluck, that’s fine. Buy that and “save money”. But people are trying to say this isn’t a good deal because on amazon the case is $40. Only problem is they are comparing apples and oranges. The two cases are not the same. This price on here is $10 less then nalpak sells them plus there is free shipping. That’s a killer price!

SikthYeah, it's hard for some to understand the value in custom high quality foam that will last a lifetime. There is absolutely no comparing it to pick-n-pluck foam. Appreciate your support!

SikthWell, to each his own. I just can't justify $30 extra "custom" cut foam vs. Pelican pick and pluck foam. I mean you are paying almost as much as the entire case with Pelican foam just for "custom cut" foam.

Sikthassuming you want it SPECIFICALLY for carrying what those cut outs are made for. me ill stick with cutting/ picking my own shapes for my own needs.

Sikthso paying 25 bucks more for a " custom" insert ..that limits you to what its cut out to carry. how is that a good deal again? what if i dont want to carry two edc watches? just curious..

bambam67It’s a good deal because people buy it specifically for what the cutouts are for. And like Andy said, you can use the watch spaces for many other things. If you don’t like the drop, don’t get it. And if you don’t feel it’s worth $25 for the custom cutout, again, don’t get it. This case is SPECEFICALLY made for EDC. To carry 4 knives, two watches and a misc one. I already own this case and I only use one of the spots for a watch, the other holds my small flashlights and mini box lighters, the 4 knife spots hold knives, and the misc spot holds my multi tool. It’s perfetc. super high quality, and the foam doesn’t breakdown like pick and pluck. If you want to buy the case for $40 and use the pick and pluck, go ahead. You obviously don’t get what you are getting for this price.

SikthI used the one you pick out on a large case for 15 handmade bushcraft knives in saddle leather sheaths. I thought I was clever. In the end, everything sagged and I then realized that—unless you had it properly formed or allowed for more foam retained—there just isn’t the structure I needed.

bambam67👍🏻 Whatever you say. And not being condescending at all. Just saying that it makes sense for a lot of people and it works for a lot of people. The pick and pluck lasts a small amount of time, especially if you take your knives in and out a lot. This fixes that, is better quality and just flat out lasts longer. Also all of those cut outs work for multiple things, like I said in multiple posts on here. it just works. Dont want it, don’t buy it, which obviously you’re not. And pretty sure I’m using this discussion board for exactly what it intended for, my opinion, and discussing it with others.....👍🏻
