Vox/Venlo are expensive and I think made of real wood, but they are lined with chrome-tanned leather which supposedly may react with the plating on the pens' furniture. Or the off-gassing from the chrome compounds reacts with the plating, not sure of the chemistry involved.
Montblanc makes a pen box too, I am not sure of the quality, and it's very expensive.
Pilot + Somes collab pen box seems to be very high quality, but only holds 5 pens (plus miscellanea in the bottom drawer). Not a lot of pen storage per buck.
This Pelikan box -- I see no value in it at all. Yes, Massdrop provides a good discount off an unbelievably inflated MSRP, but that still leaves the box overpriced for what it is.
