elimelendezFor the first time in the two years that I've been a Massdrop customer, I have to say that I'm extremely disappointed in the shipping method that you guys are using these days. DHL transferred the package to USPS in Union City, CA (30 miles south of me) on Monday at 04:27. It's now over 96 hours later, and there has been no movement since. I'm so frustrated right now I can barely think straight. Please start offering other shipping methods, because this five-day wait-for-it BS is aggravating.

XyverzYou should consider yourself lucky!! I participated in a watch drop and the package was shipped by DHL Global Mail on September 2.... the thing finally made it into DHL's Georgia hub on the 14th. This time USPS did get the handoff quickly (today), but USPS won't make the final delivery until the 24th... Indeed, you guys need to offer better options than UPS SurePost/DHL Global Mail; they are pretty unreliable and slow as all hell.

JakeRobertsOr better yet, just remove USPS from the equation all together.

XyverzThe shipping on that particular watch drop was $14.25... I've been able to send bigger boxes for a bit more than that via USPS three-day priority! Come on guys, you can do so much better than UPS SurePost/DHL Global Mail!

XyverzGeez!!! They really beat the snot out of that package! Thankfully, Pelikan uses sturdy boxes for their pens... the box my M805 Souverän Fine came in was easily just as strong, or even stronger, than the outside shipping box, and it was sent from The Netherlands (a Fountain Pen Day special from La Couronne du Comte). I'm glad the pen survived, and enjoy it, those M205s are small and cool!

JakeRobertsI've learned something buying the 200 and 400 series Pelikans: I have average to smaller-than-average sized hands. I love the looks of oversized pens, but they're uncomfortable for long writing sessions. LCdC, however, is from where I'm likely to purchase the M805 Stressmann on my grail list. (I have yet to spend more than $250 for a pen, and will have to keep it that way until after my wedding next summer...)

XyverzOn that particular Fountain Pen Day special last year they had the M805 Stresemann for something like $315, so I jumped on it. Unfortunately, I ordered too late and they ran out. Their customer service is top notch though: the owner replied personally telling me that there would be a one week delay, so I went instead for the regular Souverän (I'm a sucker for blue) with the two-tone Fine gold nib. I even asked them to test the nib before shipping to make sure the tines were aligned and for proper ink flow and they did it without any fuss or charging extra for the service. They respond to queries almost instantly (during normal work hours) and they even gift-wrapped the Pelikan box! Awesome folks and awesome service!
As for the Souverän, it's my favorite pen, always writes, puts down a bold line and the nib is as smooth as the first time I used it. I see why Pelikan charges so much for their pens. And congrats on the wedding!
