Product Description
An homage to the great masterpieces of the Renaissance period, this special edition of the Pelikan M800 mimics the nuances of light and shadow present in paintings from this time. Pearl-like ribbons of color dance along the brown resin body and flicker as they catch the light, complemented by the 24-karat gold of the pocket clip and trim Read More
I received the pen in Hong Kong which looks great except some problem with the nib. Skipping is found due to misaligned tines of nib under close exaMination. Whom I should contact to get it fixed? Many thanks.
Peter Twydle regards the M800 as the best fountain pen you can buy, irrespective of design. I haven’t tried every pen in the world, but I can attest to the fact that the M800 is a magnificent writing instrument. I currently own the Blue-Black Stresemann, and every time I remove it from its case to write with it, there is a supereal sense of awe that comes over me. Is there a better pen than the M800? Indeed there is: two M800 pens! And this pen is absolutely gorgeous. I‘m not going to shell out the money right now, but if you can afford it, by all means get it, because you’ll be owning a true work of art. If the warranty issue frightens you, well, you can send it out to a pen repairman and pay for the repairs.
This is a world class, quality pen, at a good price. I bought two at the pre-release price. They are even better looking in person than the photos. The thing that makes it a ”safe” purchase is the Pelikan Quality, and the fact that you can send it out for warranty service to anywhere in the world....makes Chartpack driving us overseas, seem kind of silly.
"Pelican USA" AKA Chartpak does NOT view Massdrop as an authorized vendor. Chartpak or "Pelican USA" does not service Pelikan pens sold by Massdrop (Chartpak is the only authorized importer and distributor of Pelikan products into the USA and Canada, and Massdrop is not getting their Pelikan pens from Chartpak). Per other drops, these pens are "gray market". Please read the DESCRIPTION carefully to see that Massdrop is not including any warranty support or warranty info with Pelikan pens that they sell.
I agree with you completely especially in the case of Mont Blanc that will not warranty pens from their own authorized dealers that advertise discounted price on their products whether of not if it's shown directly on the site or being put into the cart to show discount price. In Pelikan's case they would warranty any of their pens purchased directly from them (Chartpak, Inc.) or an authorized USA dealer. I believe MD no longer purchases their Pelikan pens from Chartpak Inc. However MD could be purchasing their pens from an authorized Europian dealer and have international warranties ( I do not know this as a fact) in which case you would have to pay for the shipping cost that can be quite high depending on locate. If the pens are coming from a third party seller you are out of luck.
