Chipp1I own one and don't think it does. I only paid $175 for mine (new, in the box) and I can tell you without hesitation, that's about all it's worth. The people most likely to cough up $459 for this one, are most likely people who don't already own one--meaning they lack my insight and perspective on the subject--that makes them vulnerable to all the hype, folklore, and general bullshit surrounding Pelikans. Nice pen for $175, total ripoff at $459.
RayFThe cost of an M800 has never been lower the $190 since 2012 so I’m presuming you bought it pre 2012 or you bought a second hand one because that price my friend is way below cost....
Penaddict23Pre-2012--imagine that!
Yeah, they had pens back then too. And if you shopped around, and ordered from European sellers on eBay, you might have picked one at that price too.
However, my point was/is that's the price they are worth--not the price they sell for (or the price you might purchase one for).
RayFThe manufacturers price for Pelikan went up on 2017 they claimed that their cost of production went up which may have been the case but the difference of $300 I agree is just ridiculous. I guess the thought the market wouldn’t mines and judging by the sales on this drop I don’t think they were we’re wrong. All about marking more profit from us pen addicts
Penaddict23Put the breaks on my collection last summer. (have more pens than I know what to do with), and I’m glad I did. Pens keep getting more expensive, but they don’t really get any better.
