Product Description
The M1000 is the flagship of the Souveran series, characterized by a wide, stately barrel and massive 18-karat gold nib. Despite the pen's large dimensions, both the Black resin and Black-Green celluloid acetate are light enough to remain relatively balanced in most hands even with the cap posted Read More
Am I missing something here?
Are there really men who have to this day, fine penmanship?
I am a disaster at writing in any style and language.
My hands were never meant for finesse.
Don't get me wrong, I would love to point at this on my desk and go "That cost more than your paycheck" etc but like seriously, I can barely write my own name. Then again, I don't need to.
It's about $80 cheaper at cult pens every day without the wait. This is not a great deal.

The M1000 and M800 write wonderfully well, and I love Pelikan pens. I have both the M800 and M1000 pens, and prefer the M800 to the M1000. The reason--the M1000 is one big honking pen. Hence, if you are considering this drop, you may wish to try both the M800 and M1000 if you can arrange it. Happy writing. You really cannot go wrong with Pelikans, no matter what your choice.
If I had unlimited money I'd buy one of these for shits and giggles but as an everyday writer I don't see how these are even practical. An M600 barely fits in my shirt pocket. Then again I think 38mm is pushing the size limits for watches too, maybe this is one of those pens where people under 6'8" need not apply.
This drop is definitely not worth it. First of all the green striped version just looks way better, and people can fins new pelikans from cult pens or other British retailers for 315 pounds which translates to about 450 US Dollars with free shipping, which is cheaper than this drop.
HaikvvActually, Cult has it for 380 pounds (just checked, and that does include free shipping to the US), so that makes it $495 US, and that's pretty much inline with Massdrops price. Plus, with Massdrop, you get to wait forever and a day for delivery, where as Cult will ship today--where's the fun in that?!
So I got my pen in last drop. I got all black in fine even though mediums were available. It is an international delivery. It arrived after due process. It wrote wonderfully, nib was beautiful and laid a very nice line which was really fine, just a wetter fine. Then by accident nib got damaged just after a few days. I contacted Pelikan and then sent it to their German HQ. I requested an exchange of nib with medium. They accepted it. It took couple of weeks at their service center but now I have received it a couple of weeks back with a medium nib. And enjoying it a lot. It was all free service from Pelikan. I am using it with water proof ink from super 5 for official signatures and diary entries plus note taking and journaling.
I do not see the point in buying a M1000 from massdrop if they are not an authorized Pelikan retailer. So.. are you guys authorized by Pelikan to sell these pens and are they covered under Pelikan's lifetime limited warranty?
Di4artSorry about the error! The units we had available for the drop are sold out already so we're correcting the page.
Please make sure to hit the Request button so that you get an email notification as soon as we source more of these pens and relaunch the drop.
