Fitted with the signature differentiated piston filling mechanism that Pelikan first introduced in 1929, the Souveran utilizes the whole barrel interior as the ink reservoir, allowing the pen to draw up ink when the endcap at the base of the barrel is turned. Cult Pens sells the M600 Souveraen for $236. I have no idea who backs it up with any warranty service. You can call Chartpak and ask them if they provide service for pens acquired outside the USA, or, for that matter, who provides service for pens purchased from Cult Pens. It may be that Chartpak provides service only for pens purchased from U.S. dealers who purchase their pens from Chartpak. Lots of unknowns here. All I know is the price through Cult Pens.

I think that the benefit to this drop might be that the pen is covered by Chartpak's warranty. Fountain pens can be delicate, and Chartpak provides great warranty service. Overseases purchases, including from Cultpens, are not covered, at least not officially. BTW, this is a fantastic pen. I have several copies of all of the models in this series, and the 600 is my favorite. Not too big for a shirt pocket, but still feels substantial in the hand. If you have large hands you might prefer the M800 .

WindhorserChartpak will not provide any warranty support to Pelikan or Porsche Design pens that are sold by MASSDROP. Chartpak is the only authorized distributor in North America, and MD does not get their pens from Chartpak.

Bit of a stretch to call the standard Pelikan stripes "Stresemann", isn't it? When people use that term they do not mean green, red, or blue.

This is from the Pelikan.com site: "In 1950, the model 400 was launched. With its green-striped sleeve, it has become a world-wide symbol for the brand of Pelikan. In the eighties, the series was baptized Souverän, though popular lore has taken to calling it by its nickname Stresemann, because the state secretary of the “Weimarer Republik” was famous for his striped suits..."

The drop is for M600 and the link is for M800, which is a bit larger than M600.

c6sunnyAlso should be more expensive than M600, so that's an indicator of sorts if this is a good drop or not.
