There are times I am critical of Massdrop, and rightly so (I believe) but in this case they deserve some props for showing this pen for what it is not...and that's turquoise. The color bone needs to be picked with Pelikan, whose marketing images paint this pen in an entirely different light. To my eye, this pen is a beautiful range of mid-blues, but contains none of the blue-green one would expect in a model being marketed as 'turquoise'. Hats off to Massdrop for getting the picture right on this one.
Shame on you Pelikan, for creating an expectation of turquoise you didn't produce.

GhostwriterA few of online reviewers noticed the same. It is more of blue than green

GhostwriterOh for shame! Actually most of the shots I've seen on other sites appear to be as-provided by Pelikan, and I don't see a lot of variation. I agree there are lots of reasons to dump on MD for their crappy, overpriced pen drops (this isn't one of them), but I don't see any reason to fault Pelikan because they don't meet your expectation for the color Turquoise (it's not like they're providing a Pantone number).
I like the color and the pen overall. It's a a tad girly for my desk, but I'm sure anyone who does buy it won't have much to complain about.
Here's another shot from the Jet Pens site that I assume they shot for color comparison:

RayFIt's my understanding that a fair number of previous purchasers sent the pen back because it didn't live up to the turquoise billing promised by Pelikan. The company has also had complaints about the Ocean Swirl model, cleverly disguising the fact that the swirl wasn't visible around the entire body of the pen. This prompted customers to ask the vendors to send pictures of what their pen looks like prior to deciding to purchase.

I do apologize if my original comment led you to believe I was faulting Pelikan for not meeting my expectation of the color turquoise. I was instead faulting them for their own marketing images that clearly depict the pen as being a greenish-blue rather than the medium blue it really is. It would appear that Pelikan has since retracted those images in favor of a more blueish version (a quick check of images.google.com for Pelikan M600 Turquoise confirms this). Many of the online vendors have followed suit and replaced the originals.

GhostwriterI would definitely side with you on the Ocean Swirl issue--hard to defend that much color variation on one pen. Just between you and me, I've been suspicious of Pelikans limited edition releases for some time--it's always the same pen in a different wrapper. I suppose someone at the corporate level is pushing for more and more product and inevitably, they're going to end up with a few duds.
Still that Turquoise thing is a different animal--there is no standard for the color. On the other hand, if the shades delivered don't look like Pelikans product shots, then I'd expect Pelikan to revise the shots or expect more returns (mine included--if I ever purchased one ;- )

GhostwriterImages doctored for color are not good, that's for sure. That said, the semi-precious stone called "turquoise" that provided the name for the color exists in both greenish and non-greenish variations — https://www.google.com/search?q=turquoise+stone&client=firefox-b&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X
