Some updated facts: The M600 white tortoise was never a Limited Edition model. The M600 in white tortoise has only been produced ONCE, ever, and it is considered to be a Special Edition model. You are probably referring to the smaller M400 white tortoise which has been in production for many years now, and is readily available online. The M400 white tortoise is no longer being imported to the USA by Chartpak (the only authorized importer and distributor of Pelikan products for USA and Canada).

I pulled myself out after a little research on this M600 white tortoise over PELIKAN perch and few other neutral website. Few facts I found: 1. Not a limited edition and has been in production from previous century till 2016. People report to get them, new for $360-400 from 2013 to 2015. 3. A simply search on eBay indicated new ones are available in the US for 700 - ebay bucks. If one really look for it, old new stock will show up for better value. Your money, your decision.

I don't know wtf you people do for a living to be buying a 600$ pen.Either you are wealthy or in serious debt but regardless, i find it fascinating.

Well if somebody has 600$ to spend on a pen and it makes them happy go for it. No matter how much I liked said pen I would feel like an idiot that just paid over half a grand for a pen.i bought a rotring pencil for 20+$ and even that eats at me... I love it but a pencil is a pencil.

eraseOne other nice thing, if you buy the right pens, they hold their value. I recently decided to sell off approx 25%-30% of my collection on eBay because I rarely use them and I was able to get very close to retail for most of my pens. These pens were all used! Of course I keep them in excellent condition and the rare pens held their value the best.

Ever get the feeling that Pelikan are continually jacking up the price to seen just how much they can get away with?

Actually, you could easily get a M1000 for this price. I have many Pelikans from over the years but I agree with Sockpuppy, I am not buying Pelikans at these prices. I think this pen is massively overpriced.

IanBFor the pricing I typically reference nibs.com because other sources can sometimes be less ... reliable. :)
I understand this is a lot for a M600 and agree. I meant this isn't an issue of Pelikans being overpriced, it's due to the scarcity of a limited run. Same happens with other brands.

A month ago I ran into store and purchased M600. My initial desire was to get this white one but they didn't have it. Instead I managed to snag red one for 50% off. Unrelated to this drop, but I had to point out just how much this one is itching me but I can't really justify purchasing another M600 this soon.
It's important to say these pens are no longer being made by Pelikan. Even though this price is expensive if anything, compared to other M600s, it's only going to go up due to their limited supply.

Some people have complained about the price but if you can afford it I would say go for it. this particular model is no longer made by Pelikan and much harder to find at any price than the m400 White Tortoise. Like the m800 Brown tortoise this is likely a pen that will increase in value.

Get one this time. Find a few facts: black is less popular - thus I got a chance. M600 is on 14k nib now as well (could be old news but I had a 18k 600 nib on a m400 brown tortoise. 3. Be very careful on the used pens from eBay sellers - the brown tortoise mentioned, had a micro crack on the body and remain invisible until some ink get in during cleaning. Also after a month or two the piston became jerky - suspect a temp lubricant was put in during sell time and off after the claim period.

Compared to this drop, the deal on amazon seems too good to be true: http://amzn.to/2pZ8ZYa and prime shipping

dieyenWell, it's not that good of a deal for green one. This is White Tortoise which is a limited edition and no longer made.

dieyenIt's not the same pen at all. As said before, the White is no longer being made. Amazon isn't full-out in mentioning it's an M600 in tHe green pens title, either.
