Somewhat unbelievable that no one is taking advantage of this! The KP is the best APSC DSLR in the market right now in terms of lowlight capability and image quality, plus that DA25 f2.8 Macro Limited is so sharp and has character.

Its not about the high ISO, the KP's output is simply cleaner at any equivalent ISO (APSC) because it has a built in Image Acceleration unit. Even at a modest ISO1600 shows better detail than its peers and is already almost or is also matching a FF camera.

fakuryu"built in Image Acceleration uni" is a name of way of implementing the technology (digital noise reduction) known for decades. Typically it is done on the main processor and was already used since K10D and by other OEMs as well but Pentax decided to make it a different chip.
There are three problems with this chip:
- it does nothing what can't be done with raw file developer. Specifically, it seems to apply mostly colour noise reduction as Fujifilm does for years already and Fujifilm does it even more aggressively.
- it cannot be disabled and it's effect cannot be (easily) reversed
- it reduces image detail (in this case: only slightly) as ANY existing random noise reduction algorithm

Does anyone know what all of the dials on this camera do? I understand the shooting mode dial, the front-right dial, and the back-right dial. But what about the two top dials on the right side?

MrBeanThe top right dial is for entering certain modes on your camera (like continuous shooting or HDR) the lower right dial is for modifying those modes once entered. I'm still learning the camera but I am pretty sure that's correct going from memory.

Kinda wish I had waited to buy the KP now. I could have had a limited lens LOL

If someone is interested in knowing the image quality of this camera, just check the stills comparison tool on dpreview.com; it is certainly the best of APS-C options, at least in RAW. A friend has one, so I've confirmed.

All fair points, I just don't think Canon and Nikon will pay the same price for essentially doing the same thing.

These were the prices for the body only as of last week (Week of 4/30).
One thing I will mention in comparison is that the Pentax 35mm DA L f/2.4 Lens at B&H (yes it's a plastic quality vs the stronger 35mm DA) seems to offer the better picture quality (from scouring online forums) for more than half the price. Otherwise, as @Casmus mentioned, B&H offers the lenses separately for a little bit more, but MD does have the lower price and many different options.
However, if you are purchasing this bundle in California, it is definitely the cheaper route to go through the B&H site since MD has sales tax for shipping to California. B&H (located in New Jersey) charges no sales tax, and the price difference and B&H perks which include shorter shipping times makes purchasing this MD bundle in California not worth it. Otherwise, if you're in any other part of the US, this MD bundle is the more cost-effective bundle.
MD also offers the battery grip for $30 cheaper than B&H does. But if you bundle this on top of the MD bundle, then B&H is the way to go (edit: for California residents only; see above paragraph). B&H overall would be about $3 cheaper than this MD bundle if you're looking for the D-BG7 battery grip to go with it. Everything about B&H would make it the superior choice and the free shipping and free returns make it the faster and cost-effective choice to go. The only way that the MD bundle (w/ the battery grip) would be worth it if you are purchasing this MD bundle anywhere else.

Our company only collects shelf and net price, so we do not include tax data. Our data is nationally representative, so we do not reflect regional sales or changes in prices. We do have services for printers in the UK and EU however.

You can get this for just $91 more from B&H Photo's site ($65 more with the 70mm). They have other bundles with zoom lenses that are much less than this (and a bundle with 40mm lens for $1200). Free shipping and you get $ back in loyalty points to spend later. Plus, and this is BIG for me, you can return it to B&H if you don't like it (unlike Massdrop). Some things I like to buy on this site, but not photo equipment. The deals aren't that great and you cannot return anything it it's not to your liking. Just my 2 cents.

JaysunI have a few cameras I use. Leica M-P(TYP 240), Fujifilm X100F, Fujifilm Xt-1, and Sony A7 RII. I have been using the Sony and X100F mostly, as of late. My recommendation for someone wanting a APS-C size sensor is to go with Fujifilm. Both of mine are absolutely stellar. Can't go wrong with an Xt! My opinion... I shop for my camera gear mostly at BH because of their excellent return policy and fast free shipping. Best...
