The black material is not "matte" at all. Just dont buy this crap.
As soon as you touch it, even if you wash your hands carefully, you will have fingerprints on the mill, and it will look dirty.
Worse: it will make your food look dirty: just put a dirty-looking mill in the middle of the table and watch the faces of your guests. Or invite some people, and when you eat, give them the mill, you'll see how "visuallyh disgusting" it will become.
And this is not the worse part. The worse part is that there's no recipient underneath, I have to use the one from my previous $4 mill (!! YES $4 !!).
Just dont buy it, it ain't even worth my good old $4 mill.
OlivierPonsThese don't look the same as what's pictured. The finish looks different as well as the design. I'm wondering if these are worth a shot.
Maybe I should buy from Amazon at more $ just so I could return them if I'm not happy.
I can't seem to find any universally loved mills to buy. I'd love to hear if someone chimed in with a better option.
akoviaLook closely at the black material, on my picture it looks brighter because I brought it close to the light, but I'm pretty sure the material is the same.
OlivierPonsI see a wood grain on the ones offered, but I think I'm going to pass anyway. Grinders not ceramic, and I agree with others about only having small text distinguishing salt from pepper.
