Thanks Andy. There seems to be a discrepancy -- according to the spec sheet (http://www.cnilaser.com/PDF/PGL-III_-C_-532.pdf) the PGL-III-C-532 is powered by a single Lithium Ion battery. The PGL-III-532 is powered by 2 C-cells. Perhaps the spec sheet is incorrect?

PyroniousMy apologizes, you're right it is the PGL-III and not the C. I assumed that the 'C' stood for C batteries. The price and power is correct, just the name is wrong. If you thought you were buying a PGL-III-C and you would like a refund, please email support@massdrop.com and they will take care of it.

Andy, the CNI website lists this part # at a different output than stated on Massdrop. Are we getting a real PGL-III-C 532 or a special US version?

PyroniousThis is a real PGL-III-C from CNI since it takes C size batteries, the power output is rated at 5mW.

What is the purpose of these lasers?
Yeah, at only 5mW, why pay so much?

Ehh. I really wouldn't bother. Its CNI, so it will be a fine laser, very easily hitting its rated output level. It will also have a very stable TEM 00 mode, have no heat issues, etc. That said, I cannot reccomend it. Why? Price. Simply put, there's no reason to get a $60 5mW laser in green. If this was a yellow laser I'd buy it in a heartbeat, but you can get pretty good lasers that have the same power output for like $10. For around the same price you can easily get 100mW+ green lasers if you want to do some higher powered pointing, or burning. Finally, I'm pretty sure Ive seen LPF group buys for similar CNI lasers that were a little bit cheaper and/or higher power.

My suggestion: pass.

SodaAntSodaAnt, can you provide links or pointers to more info on the better lasers you mentioned?
