Hello, I just joined, primarily for the audiophile products. Looking at purchasing the NHT C3 speakers for our new living room. Space is about 15 feet wide by 33 long and they will fire long ways. Space is just for general listening, music room with all equipment is downstairs, so hoping they will fill it with sound nicely. Cheers.

Update 16/02/14: The microfiber-velour earpads are kinda itchy but otherwise very comfortable. Cord is nice but length makes it awkward, use a Sentey 1m for anything close up or portable. These things are sensitive to EQ alright. Still enjoying them, would buy again.
Update 16/02/17: The X2's are just starting to break in - they're my main HPs since I received them. Enjoying the crap out of these. Still getting used to the fuzzy mircofiber earpads - I won't be swapping them out just yet but we'll see when the weather starts to warm up. Speaking of earpads: the "Bass Plus Velvet Replacement Ear Pads Cushion" set I bought off ebaye just arrived. Sealed in individual bags, I poked a small hole in one bag so I could stick a finger in and get a feel. I can definitively say they look and feel exactly like the OEM pads - sans any glue of course. I like having the spare set on hand and since these came with the backing plate, I know I can be a little...aggressive mounting alternative pads on the originals when I eventually do a pad mod.
Audio Cable: while the Sentey cable is excellent in every other aspect, I've found that its nice fabric sleeve is also very microphonic to the touch connected to the X2. :-( So I've switched to an Ememo #1 3ft cable. Also reasonably well-crafted, it's rubbery coating is nearly silent and has been tangle free - it's a keeper, recommended. Speaking of cables: I'm using a HengSheng 6.35mm male to 3. 5mm female 1ft adapter to the 6/35mm output jack on the Gustard H10. I'd prefer to avoid adding the extra length and connections in the path to the X2s, but the risk of damaging a 3.5mm plug or jack when using the stock solid adapter is just too great for me, as I roll & spin around in my office chair a bit and the cable can get snagged at times. Just a precaution; it hasn't degraded the sound quality that I've noticed...yet. ;-)
Basically, the K7XX is for those seeking the traditional "flat" response curve, IMO.....the X2 is decidedly NOT flat, but I find it overall more fun for daily listening. X2 has a much more pronounced low end (still pleasing, and not overpowering), a wider soundstage, more comfortable headband, and I greatly appreciate the metal construction, which has a much more quality feel. The K7XX has more forward mids, and probably slightly more detailed mids and highs overall. The K7XX takes quite a bit more twist on my volume knob before they "wake up".....A-B'ing them by simply switching HP at the same volume setting as X2 would be a mistake.
I am of "a certain age" where conserving my hearing is a priority; I tend to enjoy quiet listening, and the X2 plays nicely into that with their low Resistance and high Sensitivity. I like playing the Limbo with my volume knob! "How low can these play and still sound good?"
For reference, I'm using a Schiit Modi 2 Uber and Magni 2 Uber stack. I have zero EQ going, and listening is done in traditional everyday manner with YouTube, Amazon Prime streaming, and VLC Player for my personal MP3's and FLAC's. I do not yet have Foobar, but it's on my radar :p
I have SHP9500's, which I consider my $100 benchmark. I consider K7XX as my $200 benchmark. I consider X2 as my $300 benchmark, even though only paid $200 via this drop :) I missed the Fostex X00, but those will be my $400 benchmark at their next Drop.
