To those who already own a pair of 9500's, how they compare to the L1s, which just dropped recently?

Ghost_PackPhilips seems to be doing a great job with tuning fun headphones. Same V-shaped sound signature, quite a bit of energy in the treble so it sounds airy and open. It can be fatiguing if you're overly sensitive to that stuff.

Danny_Liusee this is my problem. Almost every great budget hifi headphone in the 100-150 price range is very treble heavy. I tend to find treble very fatigueing, and prefer a smooth vintage speaker sound with a strong mid good deep but not overly boomy low end with excellent clarity in the high end, but still slightly veiled. I think I am just going to have to sink the money into getting some sennheiser hd 598's

tyler555No offense but I dont think you looked very hard?
Almost everything from AKG is flat/neutral. I have an old K240 Monitor (600ohm), cost me like $50, and is incredibly flat + detailed.

tyler555Did you consider the HD558? Headphonia has a good comparison between the HD558 and HD598 worth reading. I figured the differences are minor enough and went with the more budget friendly HD558. I don't regret the decision one bit.
