New from Phoenix Audio, the Tilt Tone Channel/500 features a balanced line-level signal processor with the Class A discrete buffer amp of the company's world-renowned Nicerizer summing mixer. Plus, it has a mono channel with the same Class A discrete 10-megohm input found in the Nice DI. Finally, it’s equipped with a unique Tilt EQ, whose three positions cover low frequencies at 160 Hz, mid frequencies at 800 Hz, and high frequencies at 1.6 kHz. Along with 10-position LED metering that accurately represents the output level, there’s a dark/bright control that allows you to tilt the EQ to darken or brighten your mix.

Note: This drop is limited to 15 units. The base price is for the Phoenix Audio Tilt TC/500 tilt EQ module. At checkout, you can upgrade to the DRS-1R-500 mic preamp module (+ $85), the DRS-EQ-500 EQ module (+ $145), or the N90-DRC-500 compressor module (+ $170).

Upgrade Option: DRS-1R-500

The DRS-1R-500 is a mono preamp and DI for the API 500 series. It was designed to be identical in terms of features and sound to the popular DRS-1, but in a new format. Thanks to its built-in power supply, it runs at 24V while maintaining the very low current use required for the API format, and is well within its API VPR limits.

Upgrade Option: DRS-EQ-500

The DRS-EQ-500 is a mono four-band EQ for the API 500 series. It was designed to be identical in terms of features and sound to other products in the Phoenix range, with the same Gyrator EQ circuit found in the DRS-Q4M mk2, but in a new format. This EQ circuit is ideal for crafting vocals, drums, or instruments, and can also be used on a mix bus. The DRS-EQ-500 has an overall output level with 15 dB of additional gain, allowing the output fader to be used to drive the output stage and transformer to color and saturate your sound—even when the EQ is in bypass.

Upgrade Option: N90-DRC-500

The N90-DRC-500, also known as the David Rees compressor, is an API 500 series-compatible compressor and gate. It’s designed around a VCA control with a Class A discrete input and a Class A transformer balanced output. It’s intended to be driven “by ear,” and is musical and smooth with a wide-ranging effect.
