2. Massdrop has been very good at (eventually) getting our product to us. But the company is growing very quickly. If there is something wrong with your order besides not getting shipping notification yet, then I'd contact their support. This goes for those who ordered just pens, as well. I'm not concerned as long as I get notice that it's ready for pickup (by delivery company) from their warehouse before July 3rd. To those who just ordered the pens (without the converters), I know it must be very annoying to wait this additional time.
3. For many this is their first order from Massdrop. I've learned that delays can vary. While this kind of a wait is not the norm (they're usually much closer to their estimated dates), this is a unique drop:
- one of their most popular overall, let alone for the writing community. - many combinations of styles of the pens offered. - participants per drop keeps increasing. - often a member's first order. - first time adding the converter as an add-on option - company is still growing very quickly - people get sick, take well-deserved vacations, etc and others (with less experience) may have to cover for them.
As far as I'm concerned, I don't need these pens yesterday, I'm on a tight budget and this is a really good deal, actually. If you want the pen (and converter) right away, there are other places that sell it but those items often cost around 20% more and charge higher shipping as well.
I'm a little disappointed that the most recent update isn't more informative. My experience with "FYI" updates from Massdrop has been better than this, but that's life. My information (for my calculations) comes from what @JonasHeineman posted initially when the converters were added, my (and others') past experiences with Massdrop and accounting for hiccups in the system.
I don't work for Massdrop. If I did, you'd see a little "M" by my name and I probably wouldn't be a Muppet. Other than my own experience (from a limited number of drops), I have no additional information than you do. These are just my thoughts and best guesses about when I should expect the package to arrive. Hopefully, we will all get our orders before the 10th. If we don't know more by the week of the 6th, then I'd be concerned.
Now I take these delays as par for the course. I hope this helps those who are frustrated with their wait. If you like the bargains and the community, it might be worthwhile to stick with it. If you don't, now you know.
