I ordered these as my first set of fountain pens. Any suggestions on the type/brand of ink I should get for them?

RalethWhat color ink do you think you might like? That would help a lot for us to suggest specific inks.

RalethI would suggest checking out gouletpens.com. They offer a fantastic range of inks, and you can even order ink samplers and individual samples, which may be a great way to figure out what inks you like. As for brands, some good options to start with, at reasonable prices, are Noodler's (who have a tremendous color range and are fantastic values) and Diamine. Both offer great inks in the $10-$15 a bottle range, where you can be more open to experimenting. Enjoy the journey into bottled inks. They may take more care and be a little messier to load, but your writing will never be more expressive.

RalethI think that any reasonable ink supplier will be okay -- Noodlers, Pilot, etc. The only thing to be careful of is the ink you buy in art supply stores: most "art ink" is formulated for dip pens and will clog up your nib pretty badly.
Also, you'll probably want to wash your pen gently in warm water and a drop of dish soap before you use it to clear out any manufacturing oil that might be left in the pen. (Pat it dry gently and then let it air dry the rest of the way before using it.)
I second the recommendation for Goulet Pens as an ink source, and suggest checking out the Fountain Pen Network for more FP neepery than you could possibly want. ;)
