Any opinions on these vs, say, an SVS SB/PB 1000?
At 159 MSRP, I can't assume the plate is very good.

PigmonkeYThought about getting it to go with the SP-BS22-LR speakers I picked up on here but it doesn't get as good of reviews as the speakers do. What one person on Reddit said basically sums it up " The tower and bookshelf speakers in this series are great, and hit above their price point. The sub however is not that great. I'd look into A BIC or Dayton sub if you're looking for a more budget minded improvement.

PigmonkeYYa.. Unfortunately your assumption is quite accurate. SVS and Hsu etc. are in another league altogether. Maybe just shy of those in price and performance is the Polk PSW505 and certainly the Dayton and Bic as the previous comment mentioned. There are also some excellent DIY kits you can purchase if you're the type to enjoy a little project and find yourself handy with some relatively simple soldering and assembly etc. I'd pop on over to head-fi and do a search on the forum for 'best value subwoofer for X/Y' depending on if you're primarily wanting the sub for home theater use or 2.1 channel music etc. That forum is a great informational resource..But be careful before making a new thread asking something that has already ben covered ad nauseum in previous threads! 'Search is your best friend' is something you'll quickly be reminded of if not lol

ChumbWumbaMy handicap is that i need good high level in/out to add a subwoofer to my emotiva A100, as the line level output is not controlled by the volume knob at all.
