Reading some negative comments here and wanted to share my experience. I owned the SE-MONITOR5 for a couple weeks and they are very nice headphones. The build quality is ridiculously good - these are so well made beautiful cans. Sound is flat-ish/reference with great controlled/tight bass and the isolation is excellent. Comfort is incredible on them and the velour ear pads literally feel like sweet soft pillows on your ears. These even come with a balanced cable which made them sound exceptional on my FiiO X7Mk2. The reason I had to part with them is because they were a bit heavy for me @ 480grams and I couldn't use them for the long sessions that I'm accustomed to. Otherwise, these are a great buy! They do not use MMCX connectors either, standard 2.5mm mono. Great cans and a steal at this price if you're shopping for a closed back can. Build quality - check. Sound quality - check. IF you can deal with the weight, they are a buy.

EstasenkoBetter off getting the sem5 for $69 at buydig. These Pioneers aren’t worth any where near their prices. Sem5 at $69 is a good deal, and it has a balanced cable too.

Talan7What is the sem5? Not familiar with this one. I see an IEM but I would never compare an IEM to an over-ear headphone. Two completely different products if that is what you're pointing to.

TonyRizoOK maybe not a steal but you get a fair amount for it imo. Maybe a DT1770 would be a better deal, idk or something else out there but I could see someone enjoying these allot and the price is fair imo.
