I just got my planck kit today and noticed the provided screws for the stand offs aren't long enough to go through the case to reach the stand off. Did nobody test these screws out before packaging them up with the kit? A bit ridiculous...

AdamVikingYeah, my kit was complete, just the bottom screws were too short to thread the stand off on the other side of the case. Ended up getting 4 to stay but they are holding on by a thread, literally. I’m going to have to find some different screws.

mwahligWell glad your kit was complete, screws shouldn't be too difficult to find, hopefully. Unfortunately for me, I got everything except the switches.. board, case, cord, and keycaps but no switches!

mwahligI had the exact same problem. I asked about it on the olkb subreddit too: https://www.reddit.com/r/olkb/comments/8wz2jd/trouble_screwing_in_hi_pro_planck_case/. I’m planning on trying to track down some slightly longer screws today. If I find something I will post here!

mwahligI got mine today, there are two different types of screws in the bag, some are counter sunk and some are round. You can use the counter sunk screws at the bottom to tighten the stand offs then there is enough room for the screw to hold it all together.
Hope this helps

LerpThe countersunk ones were not long enough for me. They were 1/8" screws and I had to buy 3/16" screws instead. For reference I ordered these: https://www.mcmaster.com/#91099A101, though I think the 5/32" might have sufficed since these stick out a tiny amount.

LerpThe countersunk screws are the ones that are too short for me. I wasnt able to get some of the stand offs threaded onto the screw at all. I just need to measure them and get some longer screws I think. Thanks tho!

mwahligI've got the same problem, the countersunk screws are way too short, they don't grip the brass standoffs. I'm interested in what others found to work for size on these. I have the high profile case if that makes a difference.
Also, do the top screws secure into the PCB rather than the plate? That seems a bit odd, but I've only built an Ergodox before this.

mwahligOh no, the only reason I mentioned it was because it caught me out for a good 10 minutes before I realised! Im glad you and ssgelm got it sorted out though

ssgelmI'm super ****ing pissed at this point. My initial plan was to build it while on paternity leave in early June, but it got delayed. Then I thought I'd be able to finally build this thing on vacation in a week and a half, but no, now the *$&#@ screws are too short, and I hope I'll even be able to find something compatible before then...
What the hell happened on this drop, really? Did anybody test anything? I already put enough money on this thing, at this point I just should have ordered it straight from OLKB and saved the trouble...

TeamsterI ended up buying screws at home Depot: https://www.homedepot.com/p/Crown-Bolt-M2-0-4-x-5-mm-Phillips-Square-Flat-Head-Machine-Screws-3-Pack-06478/203539877 . They're a touch long, but work OK. It sucks that I had to go get my own hardware, but the cost was pretty minimal.

TeamsterI just ordered some screws from here (https://www.mcmaster.com/catalog/124/3127) yesterday. I haven't received them yet but they are 1mm longer than what Massdrop provided so I think they should fix the issue.

mwahligWhat size? I ordered some 2-56 screws in 1/4" and 5/16" but both were incorrectly sized in some way. They both had too thick a tapered head, and both were a little too thick to thread into the spacer. I'm really frustrated and irritated with Massdrop for biffing the screws on this kit. Least they could do is point to the correct ones so that I don't have to play the guessing game.

TeamsterI ordered M2 x 0.4 mm screws. I was able to fit some other M2 screws I had laying around in the stand offs so these should fit fine when I get them.

TeamsterI received the screws in the mail today and can confirm that the M2 x 0.4mm, 5mm long screws fit perfectly and flush on the bottom! Here is the link to them again: https://www.mcmaster.com/catalog/124/3127
