Thanks for the help and advice. Yeah I'm really getting into this keyboard hobby and I'm addicted already. Seems like this might be a all around good side project keyboard to work on. I really want to do something similar to the keyboard you linked. So you are saying that isn't the same basic board to even start with as the foundation? I don't care for the square layout much rather the layout shown in those pics to keep my typing consistent

ProvenI am not sure if I understand what you mean. But I am going by the pictures and the information that I could find by research and reading the 'build log' thoroughly. So I am going by as much information on the pcb and the rgb components as you do. I have sent a PM to 'regack'(the creator of the 'drunck planck') and asked if he would be so kind as to drop by and clarify if it is possible with the pcb's massdrop ships with.

scorpusoneThanks man much appreciated! Sorry I'm new to a lot of the lingo. I guess the pics that were shown of the rgb custom built 60% keyboard the letters are ofset like a normal keyboard this mass drop they are all squared up on top of one another. So the keyboard in the pics is a completely different circuit board I'm guessing so if I wanted to build one like that I shouldn't get this board BC it does not have the same layout to build on top of with switches etc. Maybe that clarifies. I want a 60% keyboard like in the pics but with the key layout how it is on a normal keyboard. Offset. If he did that mod with this board I might get it otherwise I should pass and try and find the exact circuit board he built it on so I can copy it.

ProvenIf the criteria is that you need rgb, you could go for bottom mounted rgb strips that others have used. Then you only need a riser of some sort, and clear switches. Also I know now what you mean about the different pcb, I should think a similar mod is possible with this one. We shall see. I'm going to try anyways hehe. One way or another it is going to work with rgb, the only question is how. I jumped on this early enough to grab myself the zealios, they happens to be clear so the option on bottom mounted rgb strips is always there ;) Good discussion though, the pcb question was confusing. I assumed he had modded the pcb from the planck to fit the 'lite-on' rgb's. They look similar AF when it comes to mounts for the switches. I found the bare pcb, it is actually named the drunck planck! Final conclusion, this is not a modded planck board! It is rather another layout entirely! I have made too many assumptions on this! My sincere apologies!

scorpusoneI should have replied here, but I posted my own thing, sorry. Just for clarity I'll reply to you directly. The DrunkPlanck is a completely custom PCB not associated with the Planck keyboard. I just made it to fit inside of the planck case. If anyone is looking for a 60% RGB keyboard, there is the Pok3r RGB that should be coming out soon, and someone is also working on one over on reddit : https://www.reddit.com/r/MechanicalKeyboards/comments/4djjb7/photos_introducing_the_6260_a_fullrgb/

regackThank you for the fast reply man, great to get it clarified! Fantastic builds, are they your own creations? =) I'll still go for the planck though, as it is so 'ocd' friendly hehe. Again, thanks!

scorpusoneYeap, my own creation(s). There's another build over here : https://medium.com/@DavidNZ/hand-wired-custom-keyboard-cdd14429c7b3#.5p8lxt4ia where the builder aimed the RGB strip up towards the bottom of the keyswitches to get the RGB through the clear switch housing. That could be easily done with the Planck.

ProvenJust FYI, the Planck and DrunkPlanck are 40% boards (12x4), not 60% as you said (15x5)
