Be careful if you purchased this collection as they are NOT colorfast at all. I am very disappointed in them and may end up discarding all but the lightest colors. Most of the darker colors "ran" when I hand washed them individually to check for color fastness. They are now on their fourth go round in the washer with two color catchers added to each load. The color catchers in the first wash were almost purple and quite dark. The last two loads have yielded color catchers with a medium blue color. I am unsure of what I will do if they are still releasing dye in this load but I don't want to take a chance in using this fabrics in my projects.

Thanks for taking the time to alert us of this issue. We are very careful to ensure that all of the products on Massdrop are of the highest quality, and fabric that isn't colorfast is a serious concern of ours. Ruining projects with low quality fabric is absolutely unacceptable.
After reading your comment we've tested the fabric by handwashing it with hot water, and including white fabric with the blue and red Plaster of Paris prints. After rigorous washing, and rubbing, we didn't find any of the dye transfer to the white fabric. In fact, the water color was clear (other than the disolved detergent). We also contacted Frond Design and they have assured us that their fabric is colorfast.
Can you let us know your washing process was (what detergent, etc?). Perhaps it was the type of soap you were using, etc. We want to make sure other participants of the drop are aware of the potential problems that you encountered.
Also, we're going to reach out to you via email and coordinate a return of your fabric. We'd like to send it to Frond Design to see if there is a quality issue affecting your specific cuts.
We want to get to the bottom of this!

BarbieintexasA few drops of a product called Retayne would have set the color. It's wonderful for preventing colour bleed.

SandyLucasThanks Sandy, I started the fabric off just in plain hot water, no detergent. Almost all of the darker colors "bled" extensively in just plain water. Then I washed in "All Free and Clear" in the washer with color catchers as described in my first post. Since then I've checked them again and found only two of the darker greens and one blue were still not colorfast so I discarded them. I did an Internet search looking for anyone having a similar problem and didn't find anything so maybe it was just a fluke. The rest of the fabrics are not bleeding dye now and while I appreciate your offer to return the fabrics, I will keep them. They are beautiful fabrics and I feel certain I can use them safely. I appreciate the suggestion from Squeek to use Retayne in the future. I will get a bottle!
