Part of Platinum's 3776 Collection, which derives its name from the 3776-meter elevation of Mt. Fuji's summit, the Exotic Wood models are distinguished from other pens in the series by the intricate patterns of their wooden barrels. Prized by woodworkers for its rich color and intricate grain, each barrel and cap is made from Briar wood chosen for its depth and detail. The pens are carefully shaped from hand-selected pieces, coated in a smooth lacquer finish, and accented with gold trim.
Note: At check-out, you can select Dark Briar or Light Briar with Fine, Medium or Broad nib. Light Briar is not available in Broad. This drop is limited to 14 total units, please check the Options page for remaining color/nib combinations.
Elevated Design
Platinum's proprietary "Slip & Seal" inner cap creates an airtight seal that prevents evaporation to deliver smooth starts and keeping ink fresh even if the pen hasn't been used for a couple of years. Perched atop a broad feed for greater stability, the 3776 Century's 14-karat gold nib lays down a consistent line but offers decent variation under light pressure. The pen feeds from a bottle via a converter, but also takes Platinum brand cartridges.
