wild_oneUnless I missed it, I didn't see any comment to that effect. Even still. It can't be that expensive to add a second tip. And it's still deceptive to have two in the pictures and there to be no comment in the description that it only comes with one.

spikerbondJust saw all the comments. So sorry about this! I'm looking at the images now and I can see how people might get confused. Yes it's always been only one plug as the use case was meant for one device charging in different places. The description does state clearly that included in the kit is 1 Extra adapter for emergency charging using your existing plug. There is only 1 plug in the kit. The plugs do cost quite a bit, there are about 7 tools that create that plug and it's and expensive unit. But if it makes more sense to increase cost a bit and include it we can consider adding it for next production cycle. I will think about it.

spikerbondIt also states in the description that there is only 1 Bi-directional plug. Not two. The pictures are to illustrate how it works, but I will discuss this with MD to see if they can think of a way to add a note to pictures stating that only 1 plug comes with the kit.
Overall however I'm glad you like the cables and they are working for you.

wild_oneDid you get lightning or microUSB? If you clean the tip with a cloth, and blow air on the pins it should clear up any obstacles. Sometimes if there are any metal particles the tip collects them you have to remove them because of the magnetic nature of the tip. Each cable and adapter is individually tested one by one for QA. If it still doesn't work let MD know.

ezgowalletJust tried using some air on the microUSB tip and visually checked it with a light on a working tip for comparison, and I saw no difference. One was functional, one wasn't. I don't expect Massdrop to respond until Monday at the earliest, so I just wanted some visibility in case they don't respond.

it just says "Bi-directional plug" not that there is only one in the package. through out the entire description page there is no mention of how many plugs there are, BUT in every photo it shows TWO, which implies that two come with the package. I dont buy the "its to show how it work" excuse, you didnt need two of the usb micro parts to show that both of the cable side adapters snap on to it, thats the whole point of this product.

ezgowalletWow, you really are going above and beyond what you need to do regarding this transaction! If only I could give more than a thumbs up...
... and now after more testing, that one plug does not work with only one device, my Sony Xperia Z5 Premium. Earlier, it didn't work with my Nvidia Shield Tablet, but now it does, and it also works with a Logitech Performance MX mouse and an iBasso DX90. Guessing it's some tolerance if it doesn't work with one device.
Now after plugging that one tip into the Z5 that started it, it's working. Must have been some tolerance that got pushed into range after replugging the tip in about 10 times.

spikerbondYou're right. I'm speaking for MD for why they took those pics, but I assume it's to show how they work. It says Bi-directional plug. Not plugs. it also states 1 Extra adapter for emergency charging using your existing plug. not additional plug. I already agreed the images may be conceived as two are included and stated that MD should probably add a note in the images stating only 1 plug is included. Hopefully they will make that change by Monday so that its very clear. There was never any intention to confuse the consumer.

ezgowalletOk. I completely understand that this is not your fault and I am sorry for being pushy. But a good part of the reason that I bought this is because I thought there were two adapters. And now the plans I have are basically ruined since there is only one plug adapter. Would it be possible to send me another plug adapter?

spikerbondI will try to get additional plugs from my manufacturer, but that will take some time as all my inventory only includes one plug. I will submit for additional in next production but that means another 6 weeks or so to get any additional plugs.
