Hi I have an Earsonics ES3 and I would like a warmer, rounder sound. Which one do you recommend?
Hi., Which one would be most suitable for my Utrasone IQ. My goal is to improve clarity and smoothness of vocals and treble. So all I want is just to make sure that that trebles are smoothened and vocal sibilance is removed, since Ultrasone IQ can get sibilant and have hot treble.
bungo
Copper would be the best choice for you.
what is the main difference between two mmcx options?
Chunzzz
Westone is smaller, while the Shure version will be compatible with all others.
which base will pair well with vision ears ve8, and should i go with x or exo, is there a noticible difference?
ItsukaSama
Between the two, Exo will perform better. However if portability is your main concern, X would be recommended.
PLUSSOUND
thanks. if i am to pair with ve8, which base should i go for
@PLUSSOUND Please advise which connector should be selected for iSine 20? Your homepage stated that 2 pin (0.78mm) is for iSine but it seems Audeze is suggesting to use 0.75mm. Please confirm. Thanks. https://audeze.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/115004400183-Connector-info-for-iSINE-and-LCDi4-Headphones
mylam
0.78mm 2-pin are the ones used.

Would this be the same cable needed for Sony XBA-Z5? Just wanting to confirm
andrewebay1
Z5 are MMCX, so it’s not compatible with EX connectors.
Is this a balanced cable?

It has a 2.5mm balanced output, so select 2.5mm as your plug/termination
PLUSSOUND
Thanks for your timely reply!
Whats the warranty on these?
Zhus
One year.
Would there be any audible difference with X series (base) with Shure 425? I’m a sucker for details and accuracy while still retaining some of liveliness.
FelixSpeedG
Yes, there will be. Silver based wire will offer such characteristics.
PLUSSOUND
Thank you for the reply. one more question, do they come with memory wire. Shure’s have over the ear cable.
x8 silver + gold review plz..

Review is coming soon.
How would these work with Etymotic ER3 / ER4 series? which would be best pairing? thank you
Jerrikko
Yes, but option is available on our site.
Fellow Audiophiles, I've been doing HQ audio recording for 21+ years now and used to think of different aftermarket cables as snake oil, until I actually bought them and tried them out for myself. The difference wasn't as big with different microphone cables, but with IEM's, the difference is VERY real, whether you believe it or not!!! I would never spend more than $300-$350 for an MMCX IEM Cable, but I HAVE spent $140 on a Linum G2 Bax MMCX Cable, and around $275 on a Linum G2 SuperBax MMCX Cable (with expedited shipping LoL 😁). There IS a difference, you just have to try it for yourself, and have good enough IEM's to actually hear it! I have a pair of CA Andromeda and Dorado IEM's, plus a pair of Westone UM Pro 30 (G2) IEM's, and I can EASILY hear a difference with ALL 3 pairs of IEM's when I use the Linum cables vs the stock Westone/Campfire Audio MMCX cables! In fact, just last night I was listening to my Andromedas and Dorado's to see which of the 3 cables I liked the best with both pairs of IEM's, since I actually had the time to do it (CA Standard Litz MMCX Cable, Linum G2 SuperBax and Bax MMCX cables)! I easily heard a difference between the 3 different cables, and on BOTH pairs of IEM's, the difference was bigger and very drastic IMO! In the end, I preferred the sound of the Andromedas with the Linum G2 SuperBax and CA Standard Litz cables. They had better low-end than the Linum G2 Bax cable, and a tighter, more defined sound overall! With the Dorado's, I preferred the Linum G2 Bax MMCX Cable, as well as the CA Standard Litz MMCX Cable. Those had better high-end extension, yet a nice and punchy low-end/bass. The SuperBax made them a little bit too punchy/bassy for my tastes. Campfire Audio already does an amazing job of finding the best cables for each of their IEM's that they make, and while I would've been completely happy with the stock/Standard CA Litz MMCX cables, I am not the biggest fan of the memory wire that they use, and I often prefer the smaller and more comfortable Linum G2 MMCX cables. Trust me when I say this, there is DEFINITELY an audible difference between the different MMCX Cables. It just depends on the impedance, number of Drivers, sensitivity and overall sound of your IEM's! Although there's definitely a difference, I would still NEVER spend more than $350 on an MMCX Cable. Period. The diminishing return just isn't big enough and I'd rather put the money elsewhere into my portable listening setup and live Audio Recording setups! Just because you can't hear a difference between the different aftermarket cables with your $50 Tin Audio T2/T2 Pro IEM's, doesn't mean that others DON'T!!! And when I start running my new CA Solaris ($1,500) and Dorado IEM's balanced out of the new Shanling M5s DAP in the future, I'll be spending $300-$350 for the CA/ALO Reference 8 or SXC-8 MMCX cables with a 2.5mm TRRS balanced cable, mainly because the stock CA Litz MMCX Cable sounds awesome, and they use RIGHT ANGLE connector's. So I'm SURE that I'd be able to hear a difference with the PlusSound aftermarket cables, however they don't have a right angle connector, which is a deal breaker for me!!!
FOBean
That is a lot of exclamation points!
Ajs308
Wowza, I guess I did use a lot of them LoL 😁
Will the Mmcx fit the Shure 535?
turbodieselvw
Yes it will.
Why only the IEM version? i need a nice new cable for my K7XX
shadowkreep
Offer will be on our site next week.
Ahh now i know the nuforce connection is .75 mm
Just got mine a few days ago. It is the Gold+Silver with the 4.4mm balances plug. It sounds great with CA Andromeda and the Sony zx300! It is a bit meatier than the ALO Pure Silver I have been using. It’s also Thicker which makes it a bit more ergonomics mic and comfortable. Great cable!
Already got mine. Both sides have green marker, so how do I know which is left or right?
Plys
Connectors with screws must have them face outwards.
Plys
Perfect. Thanks. Cable sounds great, and really helps my K10s stay in place, unlike the original Noble cable which tends to pull the earpieces out.
If anyone has and is looking to sell a 3.5mm...
For those commenting on the “ridiculous” price of these and other high-end cables, this is an excerpt from glassmonkey’s review of the EA Ares II+ cable found on his audioprimate blog. Granted, I do find EA’s higher offerings to be ”ridiculously” overpriced.
“That was a bit of an aside, but it comes down to this: if you have the time and capability to make cables, you can do it for similar or lower prices than custom-made cables by companies. I personally wouldn’t do this, and I can tell you why. Consumer rates for wire are expensive. If I want to make a 1.2 meter quad braid wire of a quality similar to Effect Audio’s Ares II+ this is what I have to buy from my suppliers in the UK and the USA:
Component Cost
1. 5 meters of Cardas 21.5 AWG OCC Litz wire (cost converted from GBP)1 $53.50
2. WBT 4% Silver Solder (cost converted from GBP)1 $34.60
3. Eidolic 2-pin connectors (model E278PG) (plus VAT)2 $16.35
4. Eidolic splitter (ESX4) (plus VAT)2 $11.75
5. Eidolic 2.5mm TRRS jack (plus VAT)2 $14.75
VAT 3-5 $8.57
Shipping 1-2 $4.35
Shipping 3-5 $11.50
Total $155.37
All of this is assuming that you already have a soldering iron, and sufficient expertise to braid the wire and then solder the ends. This also doesn’t include your labour costs or the difference in quality or sexiness between what you will produce and the professional fit and finish that Effect Audio produces. Since I don’t have soldering expertise, braiding expertise, or a lot of time, buying a cable makes a whole helluva lot more sense. Effect Audio’s costs are surely less than what mine would be, but that is the nature of economies of scale and having the ability to buy wholesale. I don’t begrudge Effect Audio being a successful business, in fact, I’m cheering for them. I consider the price of the Ares II+ very reasonable. Even if I were to get hit with VAT, which may or may not happen, I think the $219.90 price of the Ares II+ is reasonable. The components aren’t cheap, and the labour and overhead costs are totally reasonable.”
I did get in on this drop after reading many reviews. With that said, this is the most I’ve spent on a cable and if the reviews hold true, it will be the most I ever spend on a cable. Compared to other companies, PlusSound cables aren’t “ridiculously” overpriced. Factor in that PlusSound is a relatively small company, heck they have an Etsy shop.
Argh, just realized the 3 month wait time for these. The cables are handmade though, sigh...
rantng
The wait time will be shorter for this drop.
Will these have the default black heatshrink w/gold logo? Any way to specify a red logo for the RT side?
rantng
Option is not available for drops.
PLUSSOUND
how do you know which is the right side .... this is ridiculous
Anyone know if there should be a difference in sound between the X and the Exo both with Silver + Gold? I wonder if there are any audible difference between the two or is it mainly aesthetics?

Thanks for the reply. I ended up getting the Gold + Silver Exo with a 4.4mm plug. I also got an ALO Pure Silver from ALO. I will try both with andromeda and will keep the one I like best. I’m hoping to get a bit more sparkle and air from these cables. I found a review from The Headphone List of the Exo Gold + Silver and it was what convinced me to join the drop!
Jonathane40
Haha, yeah, I read that same review!
does the 4 pin option include the bass pot?
Interested to buy Tri-copper only.
Looks delicate and well made, but a little bit pricey.
Will the 2-pin option work for the Audeze iSine20?
It says "x8 series". Which one? Copper? Tri copper? Something in between? Why so vague?
I got a PlusSound Exo cable for my Audeze iSine20 so I could use the balanced 2.5 output on my Fiio Q5. I definitely noticed a genuine improvement. I don't know how much of that falls on the cable being higher quality or switching from traditional to balanced, but it made me a believer. I fully endorse PlusSound if you have both the gear to make it worth it and the cash to afford it.
Shagatron
I will also add that I chose PlusSound over other more affordable options because PlusSound makes their cables in America and supporting good jobs here will always be worth the extra money to me.
Shagatron
That's a noble cause but don't feel too bad if you buy something that's not made in your homeland, as I'm sure your purchase helps Massdrop pay its own US staff, the credit company gets a portion that they pay to their US staff, the courier company gets a portion to pay their US staff, etc, etc. But yes, buying locally made is extra nice. I try to do the same in my country, but so many of our manufacturers have been bought out by global giants and the first thing they like to do is move production offshore to save money and boost profits.
