i gave ya access to my FB cause I wanted to see and compare pricing... on some sets... But can't.. so this was a waste of shared info.. I have one PM quilting set I bought in paducha but don't remember what I paid but I don't guess I"ll be shopping here since pricing is such a secret.. disappointed.
Just received mine today - just as stated previously, they are 1/8" thick and not 1/4" as advertised both in the description and as a long arm ruler (1/4" required). I am so not happy as they are unusable with any long arm quilting machine.. I wrote to Massdrop letting them know that they can either send the correct rulers, or refund me immediately.
BeckyBQuiltsHi there, let me reach out to our vendor and see what happened here. Im sorry you are not satisfied with your purchase. What is your name and I can look up your order for you!
I was really looking forward to using these rulers, but they are not 1/4" thick. They are only 1/8" thick....so maybe they shipped templates rather than long arm rulers??? I'm bummed.
I stopped by PM Quilting's booth at the show in Houston last November and their stuff all seemed to be really high quality. The only reason I didn't get anything then is because I was already planning on a large purchase (sewing chair). I'm thinking you could also use these for tracing applique shapes out if you needed and having the different sizes all bundled would make for some fun design possibilities and keep the shapes consistent.
ElisabethLongarm rulers are 1/4” thick, while domestic machine rulers are thinner. You would have to check your darning/hopping/free-motion foot for clearance at the BACK of the foot, because on some machines the back of the foot can become hung up on the thicker plastic used for longarm quilting.
I believe this issue is a fairly persistent problem, which led to the development of domestic machine ruler kits.
I'm not the manufacturer. I’m just a longarm quilter.
Elisabeth1/4” rulers work best with high shank sewing machines. Otherwise you have to make sure there is enough clearance around your needle and foot. Check with something that is 1/4” thick to see if it will slide around. Also, to make sure your sewing machine foot doesn’t slide under or over the ruler and mess up your machine’s timing or worse, get a 1/4” ruler foot. Some of the sewing machine manufacturers are making them for their sewing machines.
