What's with all the hate for this laptop? I'm sure the build quality is excellent and the design looks awesome. Sure the hardware isn't the latest, but how many people own Macs that have integrated graphics and paid $2000+ ? For this design language, $1300 seems just about right.

ImHereForSeikosThe i7 8th gen is 40% increase in performance. It is from a dual to a quad core. Computers are about hardware not what it looks like. It's not a watch that is going to perform great and look great for many years that you would pass it down generations. It is a laptop you will dump it in several years. If I had so much extra cash Ilthat I would spend money on how my laptop looks then I would be buying a new one once a year.
Well then that sucks for you. There’s nothing wrong with buying this computer and quit trying to justify that there is

Thom.asLol yea I'll just stick with my Dell XPS that I got for $900 on sale with an i7 8500u that will complete destroy that Porsche garbage in performance battery life compatibility and service poor me XD
ImHereForSeikosI own a own a Mac (several actually) and like them all (some more than others), but I think all of them are cooler than this one.
And btw, even the oldest and smallest of my Macs could kick your butt--just say'n.
ImHereForSeikosIt certainly was--before 1984. Now it's just an embarrassing habit you can't break (like biting your nails and playing video games after 22).

ImHereForSeikosI have to use windows, because I need the performance that macs don't offer. I also don't like being to their mercy for help and support. But I have to admit windows 10 is pretty garbage right now can't even search files properly. Mac is even worse though, can't even right click and need to log in to install stuff lol and plenty more. All in all everything sucks even Linux cause I can't get Adobe on Linux.
Well, limited as you are financially, you'll have to wait for 18 core, 4.5gHz machines with 42 MBs of cache to start growing on trees. Should you win the lottery between now and then, give Apple a call ;- )

RayFIf I do buy a new pc I would grab the threadripper with 32 cores oh wait... omegalul enjoy spending a fortune on a server chip
RayFThis discussion is asinine. There's no need to dog someone for being poor, and there's no need @Team_Orad to dog people who appreciate the function AND the form of a device at a higher expense.
Different strokes for different folks, people! I prefer building my own PC, personally.
AaroniusHBeing "poor"?!!! You twit, he said he spent four-grand on a desktop computer! If you consider that poor, you must be part of that income inequality problem I've been reading about lately? And as for dogging, I say there's no need to dog anyone on MD for making asinine comments (your's certainly qualify)--'round here, we get to express our thoughts, feelings and emotions about damn near anything we want, and there is nothing in our contracts that says we have to be right, when we do it!!!
So, that said, I was mainly dogging the people here who still use Windoze machines, not what the pay for them--that would be "upitty" of me, wouldn't you think? But I would make fun of them for buying a windoze machine that copies the looks/form factor of a ten year-old MacBook, because they mistakenly thought someone at Porsche had actually designed it first--that would be really asinine!
RayFNot sure why you felt compelled to call me a twit. I said the conversation was asinine but not you. Also, you implied that he probably couldn't afford a mac before he even dropped the info that he has a $4,000 computer so i don't think you can use that as a defense.

Yes, you have a right to express thoughts, feelings, emotions, etc. on this site. I do as well. That's why I felt compelled to say what I said about how that conversation devolved. I doubt much value could be gained from an outsider reading this when they're trying to figure out whether or not they should buy this product.

Absolutely.

That's actually a pretty reasonable take! I don't have an opinion on this specifically, but that could be a constructive discussion regarding the viability of this product.
AaroniusHNot that he couldn't afford a Mac, more that he was unwilling to shell out for one (often the first criticism one hears from Mac-haters is that they're too expensive). And I called you a twit because I couldn't remember how to spell "raving lunatic madman" at the time.
RayFI mean I wasn't butthurt, thanks for opinions man appreciate it. Lol watch out for the sjw though
All that really matters in this discussion is that the Porsche laptop is trash
