Just a quick FYI I was the only person to join the drop and 2 where needed. The sale didn't go through. So you do need te requested number of people to unlock the sale.

Wow really? That sucks, I feel bad for you man! Thanks for the information though!
I'd be in for the stainless steel version.  Next time, then.
Ahhh dammit, terrible timing for me. Would love to get one of these, it's just horrible timing for me.
I have the red dial version. Great watch and fantastic price (I would love to know the last deal price that LHSolutions was referring to if it was better than this)! One thing to be aware of... the rubber needs to be cut to fit when attaching the deployant. So if you decide to resell, be aware that you will likely need to sell to someone with the same size wrist or smaller. The replacement strap is fairly expensive.

For the Chronograph?!? That would have been a steal! Yeah, makes this deal not as appealing if that was the case. But it's still a great price.

:) Nah, it would have been a steal if it was chronograph. Only thing that puts me off buying is the black case coating. I like traditional stainless steel look maybe with white dial face lol just personal taste. Maybe next time
FWIW – I'm a heavy user of my chronograph and would love a another quality mechanical watch with a readable "seconds face." My current watch uses the outer dial to mark minutes and is much easier to read than so many of the small-face three and four complication watches. Haven't seen anything that fits the bill yet, though possibly the Glycine.
Last deal price was far better :) Shame, no white dial face stainless steel version...
I`m just not a big fan of the black case coating.
desoign is too much like a car odometer. prefer something classy on a wrist.
Are these still made by sinn?

These are likely the watches built by Eterna for Porsche Design, and I think this model was introduced around 2009.
Since around 2015, Porsche has been producing their own watches in-house though under Porsche Design Timepieces AG.
Too rich for me at this time, but I'm curious about the strap material and method of attachment. Can anyone enlighten me?

Technically you're your right, it's like saying it doesn't cost much to get your car checked for air quality (of course that assumes that your car is in a condition where you know it's going to pass). However there are hard costs and soft costs involved with certification.
The hard costs are pretty easy to define, there's the actual cost to have the certify the movements, the shipping to and from etc.
The soft costs are where the expense is often incurred. To have a movement that will meet COSC standards it's going to start life as something better than a standard grade. COSC is -4/+6, if you look for instance at a ETA 2824/ETA 2892/Valjoux 7750 it's their higher grades that meet this number, interestingly enough called their "chronometer grade". Plus the movement needs to be serial numbered as well.
So while the actual hard cost of certification might be minimal, the process that gets that movement ready to be certified is not insubstantial. So for a COSC watch, again this isn't a bad price considering the costs that go into get it certified.

Agree - the real expense is manufacturing a movement able to get COSC
I have two flat six's and they are amazing. I paid way more for these than here. Awesome price here!
Integrated bracelet Is a deal breaker for me.

The bracelet is actually really comfortable and easily replaced with 4 screws.

Thanks for that info, it would help if Massdrop could relay that in their description.
