Has the order come in at the warehouse yet?
Great news group! The vendor has let us know that the group's order was picked up and is on its way to our warehouse now. Based on the tracking provided these are scheduled to come in 3/11. Our warehouse team has been forwarded tracking info and will be standing by, ready to get these packed up and turned around as soon as they come in.
Sometimes shipments get delayed en route, not to worry as we will keep the group posted throughout the process and notify you all if anything causes delay.
Thanks for your patience and expect an update from us on 3/12 or sooner if something comes up.
Quick update for the group. We are in contact with the vendor and awaiting updated shipment estimates from them. We have a call scheduled first thing tomorrow morning and should get a bit more visibility in regards to when we can expect these in our warehouse. We will update the group as soon as these are on the way.
Thanks for your patience and expect an update from us on 3/6 or sooner if something comes up.
Thanks again for joining the drop with the community. We submitted the group’s order with the vendor for the PreSonus FireStudio Project shortly after the drop ended and they have begun preparing it for shipment.
Once the group’s order is ready at the vendor’s location, they will send the bulk shipment to our fulfillment center where we’ll break it up into individual orders and ship them off to you as soon as possible.
The moment we receive confirmation regarding the shipping schedule from the vendor, we will provide you all with updated information on the status of your package.
Expect an update from us on 3/2 or sooner.

I have one of these. The fantastic thing is you can daisy chain two of these together and use them as a single unit. Very high quality.

olChalkyYou can do that with most AIs.

velocirabbitTrue that. I'm a home audiophile/producer who isn't a gearhead and doesn't care much for gear, just as long as it works well for me and gives me good sound quality.

So is this just PreSonus trying to dump their stock since Firewire is deprecated?

SlatsYou got it. This particular model line has been around for almost a decade. I still have my original Firepod, which I I think cost around $500 around 2008. This isn't close to Presonus's current offerings, more specifically the AudioBox 1818VSL. I still like my newer StudioLive, but Firewire is dead. It has been dead for 3 years already, the closest you can get to it is using a Thunderbolt>Firewire adapter on Macbook, or a PC tower with a PCI card.

KoskoI've heard of problems with the 1818VSL. Either way, I would rather stick with FireWire than a USB 2 interface or one that has been known to have problems with USB 3.
If you're going to get something more current, go for a Thunderbolt Interface.

I own one of these. I did happen to purchase it at the $299 price not too long ago on a different sight. With shipping added it came in just under the $349 price. I would say that this is a good deal especially when you cannot find it at the $299 price online now. Only $399. I may even consider buying a second one at this price.

> The price here is still better than the current Street Price of $399.
Where did you get your idea of what the "street price" is? I see a couple new on ebay for $300. I think what you mean to say is that the price here is lower than the retail price elsewhere, since Amazon increased their price 4 days ago.
I suppose we're free to disagree on what a good deal is vs. a bad one -- heck, you could even argue that $1000 would be a good deal for this product if you wanted. Anyway, I've laid out the facts and I'm sure anyone checking this discussion will make the best decision for themselves based on their own opinion of what makes a good deal, so let's agree to disagree.
Not looking to optimistic for PreSonus right now... maybe you should jump in and buy a few more since they're such a hot item in your view and merely $15 more than you paid for the last one and merely $50 more than they cost 4 days ago. ;-)

zoomorphYes, we will have to agree to disagree. I did mean the current retail price when speaking of $399 There are a couple on eBay for the $299 price (+ shipping), one of which actually looks new. The other I see is actually an open box with reprinted manual and dings.
You give me too much credit. But then if I've convinced you that it is arguably worth $1000, then I've got an even better deal for you, Three for the price of one: https://www.massdrop.com/buy/presonus-firestudio-project/talk#tab-description
It is not looking optimistic and I'm not surprised. Even though it works great, FireWire is on the way out. I was definitely considering committing to the $334.99 price (includes shipping in the US) because I would love to have a second one for home and I would have two then for multitrack live recordings. The one I currently have is being used on stage. But I'm about to be moving so I think I will be skipping the second one for now.

zoomorphHi Zoomorph, really appreciate this insight! We always do our best to provide the most competitive market price for every product listed on Massdrop. It seems there has been a recent increase in overall market prices for this product.
Due to this shift, this is the best price we can offer and it is relatively competitive when compared to other sources at this point in time. I have also been told from our vendor that they do not expect a return to lower historical prices any time in the near future.
Thanks again for your continuing support!
