Also, because of the non-stick coating, I feel compelled to carry the bowl (which I don't really need) just to protect the coating from the canister etc. (I suppose I could use a bandanna)
Am I being overly protective? Is it tougher than I think?
In a way I don't like that the pot is thicker/taller due to the heatsink but it is efficient, distributes heat better than my titanium, and refuses to stick.
I like that I can do Knorr Alfredo without it thickening up and sticking to the bottom.
Bob's Red Mill 10 grain cereal that I'd end up scrapping off the bottom of my titanium doesn't stick and wipes right out. (Steel cut oats aren't a problem even in my titanium)
The same with the mixed dry beans and chicken that I tried to simmer outside in the wind the other day. Practically boiled it over several times, and came close to boiling dry a time or two. It's a wonder I didn't burn it. (Cooked 1 1/2 hours and I didn't watch it very well) Practically rinsed clean. I was surprised, and impressed.
Works for bannock and egg too.
If I carry it, I'll probably take the bowl too. Make a nice water bowl for my dog.
Love this set - I've had it for a few years and use it frequently on moto and bicycle overnights.
