Sold my other stoves, never looked back
This is by far one of the best stoves out there. I sold my old MSR pocket rocket and whisperlite international stoves after getting this one. Hands down better performance than the other 2 combined. It sips fuel too, so you get far more burns per canister/bottle. Never had a hiccup despite 2 years of hard use. Get one, you won't be disappointed.

Good versatile stove. Great for multiday group trips. Loud but not more than expected.

Wowowow!
This thing uses old gasoline, kerosene, and everything in-between. My favorite camping purchase ever.

I used this stove on a 2 week camping in Canada in February. It fired up every time and was very fuel efficient. I only needed to refill the included bottle twice while boiling about 96fl-oz (2.7L) of water per day. Temps were down in the 20's F (-7C) and boil times were pretty reasonable. This thing is very sturdy and holds up well to cold temps and several pounds of water on top. Keep in mind that this is really suited to winter camping this stove is not really light enough for spring summer camping and you would most likely want to use a canister stove that is more compact and lighter in warmer weather. In the cold though this thing is a champ. While at full retail I am not sure that this offers better value than the MSR Whisperlite International at this price this price it is an obvious choice.

My review for the Primus OmniFuel is substantially very similar to my review for its smaller, more expensive sibling, the Primus OmniLite Ti (https://www.massdrop.com/buy/primus-omnilite/reviews#reviews). As with the OmniLite, I ordered a BernieDawg silencer, the OmniDawg, designed expressly for the OmniFuel. The most significant differences between the OmniFuel and OmniLite are:
  • OmniFuel is larger and heavier, as expected. Better for groups or recreational camping rather than backpacking.
  • OmniFuel's triple legs/pot supports lock in place when unfolded ... no Paw needed for this stove.
  • As expected, the OmniFuel has storage for the 2 unused nozzles built into one of the pot supports, so they come along with the stove without having to remember to pack them.
  • The OmniFuel is slightly more difficult to prime with methanol, as the priming sponge does not protrude at all from beneath the brass bell (unlike the OmniLite), making it tougher to pour the methanol onto the sponge and tougher to light; I found I needed long-reach butane lighter.
  • The OmniFuel is slightly more annoying to use with the OmniDawg silencer, as the flame spreader is attached to the central stove housing via a spring. Nice not to lose the spreader, but annoying to have to remove it just to use the OmniDawg.
The OmniDawg works flawlessly. It seems to tame the stove roar even more dramatically than the OmniPup does for the OmniLite Ti (but that's purely subjective and based on memory, not direct comparison or actual data). All in all, highly satisfied with the OmniFuel. If size/weight isn't your highest priority, the OmniFuel is a great stove, and an even better buy than its smaller sibling.

Worked great with petrol, didn't work that good with diesel (took a long time to turn on, and emitted a lot of smoke).

Tal7you should carry ethanol\methanol with you in a small bottle to pre hit the stove without all the smoke and only then open the diesel.

Good quality, low price, excellent completeness. But the tripod reflector had bent one part. Just hand-fix.

A great, quality made stove that is easy to use and versatile. There's a reason this thing has been around a while. I used it with white gas (Shellite here in Oz) just recently on a -1C morning and was enjoying my breakfast while all the rest of the clan were desperately trying to get any heat out of their gas canister stoves ;-) (yes, I did let them use it eventually...haha) Oh and great fuel economy too.

This is just about perfect for anyone that wants a reliable, easy to use stove, that boils water quickly. Although the OmniLite Ti is lighter, the difference is negligible given it's time proven reliability. I own both versions and have found that the OmniFuel with it's larger base, is considerably more stable on uneven, or loose ground. This advantage more than makes up for the small weight penalty. I bought the OmniLite Ti thinking that it would be better. Having used both, I realise that the OmniFuel is the better stove. The OmniLite Ti is ONLY worth considering if you cannot fit the slightly larger stove into your pack.

I love this stove, im running it on butane gas for now but it has been run on other fuels and it runs well. We found it works best on Butane Gas & White Gas (Shellite Liquid Fuel). It will run fine on kerosene but it puts off a strong odour. We tried it on Low Odour Kerosene and it doesnt like that fuel. We have purchased the Gasmate adaptor to run the skinny butane cartridges and it works perfect. Overall i love it.
