Product Description
As you may have guessed, this Prometheus Lambda top is made with two pieces of metal: a 6061 aluminum spindle and a C360 brass ring. The hollow aluminum spindle lowers the center of gravity for better balance, while the brass ring adds weight to help the top center itself and spin longer Read More

Surprising to see that nobody is interested in this drop. I think it has to do with the price of $85 which is not justified.

Yes, today plierspinning tops sold couple of copper / magnesium tops with sapphire bearings at same price....

ShainYeah, I agree, they are pricey. But for something that the maker is asking $110 for on his site, $85 is still a good deal. Perhaps everyone is all ‘topped-out’ this year. 😉
Over all, I’ve regarded Lambdas as “middle of the pack“. And the price reflects that. The Copper two-piece I bought for $150 was painful. But there is just something beautiful about their design that I can’t deny.
I can easily get 10+ min spins out of this one without much effort at all.

"Now, we just need to get Jason to make a Copper two-piece. I think that would look amazing."
Way to go Jason! I did email him about this possibility a couple of months ago (not that that had anything to do with it). But his store now has the very style had been wishing for! I am choking a bit on the price. Now to decide if the Ruby tip or the White AL2 03 tip would look better. I'm leaning toward the white tip since all of my other Lambdas have Rubes.
(UpdateGot the White AL2 03 tip.)

I have one of the Kickstarter releases (Solid stem, Ruby contact) and it's a great little top. Hasn't seen much use recently though, so if anyone is interested, mine could be on the move. Still have the presentation box. US$90 and it's yours. Shipping from Australia at your cost. heyits@protonmail.com if interested

You will not regret buying this top. I got a scout co leather "holster" for it and I carry it around everywhere with me!

Would love to see more made in tungsten. I'd pay the $300 for that.

Would like a tungsten outer ring, aluminum base, and a ruby or sapphire contact point with this style. Since I have the all brass version of this, I am hesitant to get this one as well (since I have go a bit crazy on my pen collection and didn't plan on starting a top one as well).

znahumi've got a couple of solid copper, one solid brass, and one of these new two pieces. the two piece is truly a little bit more fun to spin. it flies off your fingers and is easier to get higher launch rpm. i'm getting 1-2 minutes more spin time on average than the solid copper. the distribution of mass is much better, because it's not just the stem, but also a significant portion of the inner rotor that is also much lighter, concentrating the mass on the perimeter. it feels quite different.
and i'm totally IN on a new run of tungsten!

I ended up picking this one up already in June when Jason rereleased them via his store. I've always liked the two-piece look and had missed out on the initial Kickstarter release.
Now, we just need to get Jason to make a Copper two-piece. I think that would look amazing.

I already have the brass/ruby, brass/steel and copper/ruby. They're among my preferred tops. I was considering buying the new brass/al/ruby when this drop appeared. It's a very good drop : -30$ on top + shipping

How does this two-piece compare to the solid brass, on average?
Same question vs solid copper.

For anyone considering; I have one of these from the Kickstarter campaign and it's a beautiful piece of machining work. I have the ruby contact and on an upturned coffee mug I can easily spin for 10 mins plus.
