Designed for skinning, this PUMA fixed blade features a long, thick trailing-point blade that allows for maximum wrist extension when cutting. Crafted from 440A steel with a satin finish, the 5.1-inch blade is a sight to behold—and it’s just as impressive when you start using it. Though large, the knife offers good control thanks to an aggressively jimped thumb ramp, which you’ll need for precise skinning tasks. Made out of stag antler, the handle has a traditional sportsman’s look. It’s fastened with brass rivers and nickel silver bolsters to hit home the old-school aesthetic. To prevent your hand from sliding forward, the bolster has an exaggerated curve. This also allows you to choke up without worry of slipping. A leather sheath is included for carry, but you can use the lanyard hole of you want to tie it to a pack or keep it around your neck, too.

Founded in 1769, PUMA has always stood for first-class quality, which is reflected in its hunting, sporting, and outdoor knives. The company started in Solingen, Germany, a city whose name is synonymous with quality cutting tools. For more than 240 years, PUMA has impressed with extraordinary quality and workmanship. It achieves this through a combination of traditional craftsmanship and modern machinery. Handwork is one aspect of production overseen by its technical staff, but more and more PUMA uses CNC machinery to improve efficiency and accuracy, and to keep prices affordable. However, PUMA still makes many products the traditional way—especially hunting and commemorative knives. After full production, each knife is quality controlled by a dedicated staff.
