Sad to see a Quartermaster knife on here. They are a scummy company with unknown materials and fraudulent origins. Lots of information going in depth on Bladeforums about how bad Quartermaster is.

Dkb45I don't think they talk with quartermaster with this deal it's probably one of the online knife stores that came to them and gave them a "deal" for this drop.

Spidey12341I know that is likely the case, but I don't like to see a company that is so blatantly fraudulent get traction, especially here too.

Spidey12341I got a Rike knife from here and when I contacted Rike I got the number for the guy who controls NA marketing and he said he didn't know about massdrop.

Dkb45I don't know too much about the back end in quartermaster but I know the stuff is overpriced also I haven't seen much from them except the butterfly knives and the really weird folder they made. I will do some research on the legitimacy of the company.

Spidey12341So Quartermaster claims their knives are all 100% US made, but the seems to be no factory anywhere here. The owner of the company (who has been very dodgy about his associations to Quartermaster in the past) owns a company that shares the same address that has received massive shipments of knives from China. WE knives also uses the same proprietary hardware, and has some knives of the same design as Quartermaster under some of their child companies.
No factory, supposed US made, large knife shipments from China, proprietary Chinese hardware, and a very scummy owner.
Quartermaster has also blatantly stolen multiple designs, namely from Warren Thomas, and buried any legal recourse under lawyers to prevent any action.

Dkb45I also recall, Quartermaster posted a picture of a CNC machine or similar on their Instagram a while back and someone found WE Knife had posted a blemish-for-blemish picture of the same exact equipment.

Spidey12341If you have an issue with anything purchased from Massdrop, the best avenue for support is to click "Contact Support" in My Transactions under the record of the transaction so that our support team can reference your specific information and also the vendor info. I'm not sure who you spoke to, but we work directly with Rike's owner, Richard super nice guy, does great work with coloration IMO. Hope that helps to clear things up.

JonasHeinemanYea I know I did contact Rike and massdrop I spoke to Richard and he gave e me the phone number or his guy in the us he said he controls the us marketing and they have big things in the works. I guess you just misunderstood my comment, I think the guy I spoke with was just new and that's why he didn't know about massdrop but Richard did, and you don't need to worry I was taken care of by Rike.
