I have both of these, both in black leather with orange stitching. The Double makes it hard to write on the left side pages except possibly once you have enough leafs under the page you're writing on, or if you're using something like a "shitajiki" [1]. Also, adding bulk on the front of your notebook, the Double makes it so you can't stack books on top of your notebook and you can't put it in a bookshelf. The Single can't hold thicker pencils like a Pilot Metropolitan and doesn't protect delicate tips like those of a Rotring 600. The Double does not have these issues, and conversely the Single doesn't have the issues of the Double. Hope this helps you pick a version that suites your needs, because other than these issues they are nice products: quality leather and practical utility.
