Looks like a design rip off of the Benchmade Mini Loco

KennySWhoa...that's too close to be a coincidence.

JKreeseI visited their site just to see what they are about (never heard of the company before). Just looking at the homepage tells me all I need to know: http://www.raidops.com/

KennySNot sure what you're referring to but their other designs seem unique enough. Also it's impossible to be aware of every knife design out there, but in this case it's suspiciously close to the BM.

JKreeseWhat I mean is that since it's a foreign company, they do not have to obey the US patent laws. They can rip of designs essentially without consequence (as a US company you could try to get the product blocked from entering the US or have a letter claiming copyright infringement, but actually getting any action done would be difficult to prove then enforce. Especially for a small company with limited legal resources).

KennySOK, I gotcha. Seems like a poor strategy with today's worldwide instant communication i.e. social media.

KennySYou REALLY think the two look enough alike for a patent claim? I think they're a similar design, but far from identical

KavikThat's why I said "getting any action done would be difficult to prove then enforce" But yes, would most likely be a lost cause due to slight variations that the Raidops knife incorporated. I do still strongly feel that they ripped off the overall design from blade shape, handle shape, thumb hole opening, etc.

KennySActually, my point was that I think the differences are rather large
Sure, they're both a sort of stylized reverse tanto with a belly (which isn't a new thing with either of them) and a thumb hole, and they both have that sort of humpback overall shape, like a frown, i don't know if there's a term for it.... But that's the extent of it. Lots of knives have those traits.
Seems to me the list of differences is a larger one. The contours of the handle, materials used, finger guard is part of the blade vs part of the handle, lanyard hole is part of the backspacer vs built into the handle, tip comes much lower vs the almost spear point alignment of the BM, full backspacer vs open frame with standoffs, completely different locking mechanism
That's what I'm saying, there are only so many combinations of features that can be shuffled together. Eventually there has to be knives with 2 or 3 overlapping traits

this raidops looks close in blade shape, and blade-handle angle to this kabar.
there are only so many ways you can design a functional blade and have it fit a human hand.
