The movement is immaterial. You are spending $2600 for a RL watch. Good luck with that.

jkwvaIt doesn't really wear that large. It's big but not huge and the design doesn't emphasis the size.

jkwvaIt is so ironic because first you say movement is immaterial but then you raise up the branding lol

benchan2a01Don't take his advice on watches. He certainly has no idea what he is talking about. $2600? Who cares. How will I miss it? Should we all die with a big bunch of cash in the bank? Or is a medium bunch of cash enough to die with? Get over it.

benchan2a01 You completely missed the point. I am not a self-declared "watch geek" but I do own several fine watches that not only are attractive but have appreciated in value. The desirability of this watch (or lack thereof) is evidenced by how few people (one I believe) participated in this drop. A RL branded watch is not going to entice a lot of interest or excitement (plus it’s like strapping a wall clock to your wrist).

jkwvaMy point is you said the movement is "immaterial" ( I know you are using it figuratively), but then you brought up the branding, which is literally immaterial, which I find ironic.

jkwvaWait 15 years. Any way, the desirability of watches as evidenced by some of the stuff that sells a lot on Mass drop is a joke. If this watch is in the presence of watch geeks in 10 or15 years, I guaranty it is going to get a alot more discussion and attention than just about any $2500 watch you can buy now. Everyone has a Omega or a Sinn. This is a an interesting watch with a killer movement by a top tier watch maker and has interesting complicatioins. I can see it now, at a watch 15 years in the future, a bunch of watch geeks passing around their respective ,15 years old speedys, and then trying to figure out which one belongs to who at the end of the evening - then one guy has this RL with a Jaeger Lecoultre movement. Which one would draw the most interest/excitement? Yeah it is a little large at 45mm, but it doesn't really wear large and given the complications, there needs to be some space. I generally prefer at 40-42mm but it isn't like a follow any hard and fast limitations on how big a watch can be. It's certainly not some $179 Invicta.

benchan2a01 Exactly. And go out and shop for another RL watch. What do you find? Ok, let's see, if you are trying to cheap out, there is the Petite Stirrup at $2,180. Maybe jkwva would like that - it is certainly cheaper and smaller. Or there is the $99,000 Automotive Double Tourbillion. He wouldn't like it though because it has the same label as the one in this drop. Somebody is buying some of these watches or they wouldn't keep making them.
