Ransom Holding Company is perhaps best known for championing the sneakerboot movement in the late 2000s with the Never Ending Path project, a multi-season collaboration with Adidas. These days, the Canadian company continues to reinvent traditional footwear with new silhouettes, colors, and materials made to cross all kinds of terrain—from city streets to mountain trails. From Ransom’s Foundation Series, the Alpine boots offer a modern take on the classic hiking profile, built on the iconic Vibram Christie outsole. The tan version has a full-grain weather-resistant nubuck leather upper, while the sand/off-white version features soft, textured suede. And for an even more rugged, winter-ready solution, there are the Elite Series Rutherford boots. These are equipped with a synthetic weather-resistant upper, Lycra lining, and high-abrasion 3D no-sew mid-foot wrap, all set on a Vibram outsole. Both styles come with a lightweight EVA footbed for mile-after-mile cushion and comfort, along with D-ring eyelet hardware and two different sets of durable laces.
