anyone have one of these and would be willing to sell the case?
well thats a first and last time I use massdrop complete fail but you did manage to charge my credit card even though you stated credit wont be charged until shipped.
We have been in close contact with the vendor and have updated news to share with the group. As part of our pre-drop process we make sure that the vendor has enough units to fulfill the group's order. Unfortunately for the Razer Kraken Forged Edition Headphone drop, due to an error on the vendor’s end that was further accentuated due to the holiday rush; the units set aside for the group were shipped to a distributor and sold.
As soon as we received the news we reached out to our other contacts in an effort to source this or a similar headphone. Unfortunately, due to widespread unavailability nobody was able to fill an order of this size on short notice.
Due to this we will be issuing all group members full refunds for their orders. Refunds will be applied to your payment method within 1-3 business days.
We apologize for any inconvenience this has caused and and have forwarded feedback to our vendor and are looking into different vendors to source Kingston products from.
If you have any concerns on how things were handled by us please reach out at https://www.massdrop.com/support and we will be sure to take your feedback into account for future drops. Thanks for your support and we hope to better serve you and the community in the future.
Thanks again for joining this drop! With your help we were able to make it successful for the community. We've just submitted the group's order with the vendor for the Razer Kraken Forged Edition Headphone and they are working hard to prepare it for shipment.
As soon as the group's order is ready at the vendor's location, they will send the bulk shipment to our warehouse in New Jersey where our warehouse team will break it up into individual orders and ship them directly to you! The current estimated ship date from our warehouse is 1/12.
Rest assured that we we will provide you all with updated information regarding the status of your order throughout the process. You can expect an update from us by the end of the day Pacific Time on 1/4.
I WON'T GET PAID IN 10 HOURS, MORE LIKE 15 HOURS!!

You can thank your boss/company in the future for saving you that $120
Rule of thumb. For every Razer product available, you can find something much more cheaper with better build quality out there. Razer deathadder mouses are the only thing worth buying from Razer.

Fair enough... except for the fact that this is for sale for half the normal retail price...
Accusmus
So that means this might be slightly overpriced? huh... just a little? maybe?
9 People Purchased and 5 People Committed. I feel bad for you people right now.
Oi shouldn't these be under audio?
Mr.Fish-N-Ducks
They are not good enough to be classed as audio

cool story bro
Guys please dont buy this garbage headphones! horrible quialy
I grabbed a pair of beyee mmx300 of ebay for $160 now those are a gaming headset. These I heard have a terrible sound stage over all.
The only reason this looks better than most razer products is because they put 90% of the budget into the looks instead of the usual 75%.
MustacheEmperor
the packaging is really pretty aswell
For those of us with large heads I will warn you these are uncomfortable as all hell. Clamping force was pointlessly high. They also sound very muddy. This was thry last time I tried to purchase gamer branded gear and returned them.
I have the original Kraken for PC and I have this one that I got on sale from Razer this year for $150. I love the original Krakens for gaming only. They are ok for music, but they were specifically tuned for gaming (hearing footsteps, etc).
These Kraken's, I regretted buying just for sound quality. I'm not an audiophile but I love good sound. I don't believe they are not audiophile headphones by any stretch of the imagination. My Vmoda's m100 sound better. For fit, they are ok for me and don't feel particularly tight on my head when I first put them on (I'm 6'5") but they do get uncomfortable after more than an hour. (I use it at work). Looks, they are amazing. I get more comments about these headsets at work more than any other. They do look great and I am fashion conscious.
Value at this price (not the $300 price) I would say they are an good value if you have no other headset and are fashion consious or want to stand out. They look really good. You get a hardcase and multiple cords. But if you value sound or better bang for your buck, then there are other choices out there.
great short review:

i had the razer kraken pro and i loved it, sold that 1 and bought the razer kraken 7.1 i love that 1 even more. and sinds this thing is very cheap now, i whould realy like it ;)
I have the regular Kraken and at a 5'6'" woman with an average size head I also think they fit a little too snug
I had a regular razer kraken and they had really muddy bass. They really hurt my ears after 40 mins of use and after 2 hours of gaming my ears are aching and sore and generally very much in pain which I suspect has something to do with the really hard foam. The only thing i liked about them is the retractable mic which doesn't get in the way if i wanted to use them as regular headphones and the noise isolation was really good but sound quality is really lacking. Now i have a hyper x cloud and the sound is much better and the mic quality is also much better and the foam is super soft.
I own a regular set of Krakens and they're ok, but definitely avoid if you have a larger head or ears. I don't think either my head nor ears are overly larger, but OW. Wearing these more than 1-2 hours started to become very uncomfortable. Sound-wise, I found them a bit bass-heavy, but otherwise fine.
Anyone else thought about buying these and modding them to take some real speakers?
Bought these for 200 from the Razer store last year during a sale, and I'll say maybe they're worth it at 120.
I don't consider my ears to be larger than average, although they do flap out from my head more than most, and these got pretty uncomfortable pretty quickly for me. The circular ear cups are much less comfortable than the more ear-shaped cups on my ATH-M50x or Sennheiser HD558, and the sound wasn't all that impressive for the price for music or gaming. But damn do they look good sitting on the shelf.
For the budget-minded consumer that doesn't need a super sexy pair of headphones, the Audio Technica ATH-M50x is a much smarter purchase. Can't compare to other Razer headsets as these were my first. Finally, negative points for not coming with a 1/4" jack (1/4"? Pretty sure. The large one to plug into a receiver).

something, something, ATH M50X, something something, dark side
One of the very few Razer products that isn't garbage. Still wouldn't buy one though.
They look pretty damn comfy.
Own these and have used the cheaper standard kraken before. This edition is far superior in every way. The drivers are definitely more robust, and tend to have a bit more bassy tone. With volume turned up they can practically be used as speakers. The mic quality is passable. The fit is a bit tight but the headband has a pretty wide adjustable range. Razer isn't everyone's cup of tea, but this is one of their finer productions.
Does anyone have any CONSTRUCTIVE feedback? I know two people with Krakens and they're very happy with the comfort, quality, style, and price. They get the job done perfectly well for voice -- this isn't an Audiophile drop.
I'm a huge fan of my Sennheiser PC 350s, but they cost $50 more than this on a crazy sale. Anything cheaper I've put on my head has been incredibly uncomfortable.

Also, these are great if you only use them for gaming, huge explosions and stuff. bad for music, if you want something that can do both, go for the AT50X for the same price or even less if you want the black version
It's a completely different driver and tuning. That being said I still wouldn't recommend these...
I actually own these, got them as a gift last christmas. My only complaint is they feel a little snug, but I'm 6'4" so my head is larger than average. They aren't worth 300, might be an okay buy at ~100 though.
Edit: These are better for music than video games, if that wasn't obvious.
uuuuuh Razer has one of the worst headsets.
Uh, who here actually voted for these?
lol.
