My keyboard seems to be registering the right side of the board as Num Lock, 7, 4, 1 from top to bottom. I can, however, get the arrow pad and the ctrl and alt keys to work. When I go to tkg.io I cannot get the firmware details to load, and it also states it cannot find the device. When I attempt to load into EEPROM mode, the keyboard does not respond or make the connected sound? Any advice?
DrippyI finished programming my keyboard yesterday. There is a way to program the keyboard the way you want. You need to go here: https://kairyu.gitbooks.io/red-scarf-ii-plus-user-guide-how-to-custom-layout/content/generate_layout.html You will need to use the template seen there, there is a link you can click on and it will send you to the template editor. Don't remove the F1 through F10 on the template, it needs them because the keyboard controller thinks that it's layout.
You can edit the keys to you layout to your setup by highlight keys on the template with your mouse and move them around by using arrow keys. I believe only the main legend on the template will be registered when reprogramming the keyboard. So I had to make a separate layout when doing my second layer when using Fn key.
Once you are done with you are done configuring the keys, go to the Raw data tab and copy it onto the tkg.io website. I had to remove any function keys on the layout to make it work.
You can use the raw data I have for my keyboard to see how it looks, you can just paste it into the layout editor in the Raw data tab to see it or change what you need.

Once you see it all green, you are good to burn in the file to the keyboard. You will need to plug in the keyboard while holding the Esc key. The site should detect the keyboard and reflash it for you.
Well I hope this helps, I had to spend a ton of time figuring out the this myself, just hope to save someone some time.
SadPandazI appreciate the help, and hopefully I can use this, however when I hold the escape and plug in my keyboard it doesn't detect that any device is detected still. It won't seem to let me enter EEPROM mode or Reflash mode if I plug it in while holding Esc+1. Also the website continues not to have any of the firmware information about the RS2+ or detect any devices no matter what keys I'm holding in while I plug it in. I'll try this at work, maybe it has something to do with my computer.
f0skNThere is an option for them in the TKG site, I have not tried it myself, I didn't install any LEDs on mine, don't know if this can control the ones in the back. Im doing this on my phone, just wanted to see all the Fn key options, I'll check when I get home though
SadPandazI second Drippy on how the site does not detect the keyboard. While my board does go into flash mode, it does not get detected on the site :-(
Do you know of any alternative?
FuxkedI've been looking for way to flash it offline. I can only find info on the RS3, where if your pc thinks its a printer while in flash EEP mode you can just download the .eep open it in notepad and print it into the keyboard.
I have tried doing it myself, but my pc finds it as a HID EEPROM deveice, so I cant try that method.
SadPandazI played around with it and got it to work however now i come across an issue where the fn key(s) don't register however they register when i place them as a different key. Sorry i'm bothering you with the troubleshooting here but looking online doesn't bring many answers.
FuxkedWhat are you trying to do with the function keys that don't register? Well on the TKG site you should be able to assign the keys, I have not come across anything that doesn't allow things to work. Im here just trying to improve what I already have set up.
SadPandazSorry, I was on mobile before.
Basically, the Fn key itself will not function as exactly that. I can change that key to be used as RCtrl and it registers so it's not a soldering or switch issue, but putting it back as the Fn key does not let me use it at all. It's as if that key itself does nothing. I'll hold it down and every key types as if it's the first layer.
I tried it with your layout even, and it doesn't want to work. :-(
FlyingLegI didnt run i to any real problems, just use the chrome browser app for the tkg and put the keyboard into flash EEP mode, by holding ESC when plugging in your keyboard.
FlyingLegI would say just ask fuxked to see if they have some advice, because they had the problem of the computer being able to find the keyboard but the site not detecting it.
FuxkedThat's what I feared. Thank you for the information. It's like the keyboard is semi bricked as only one row of keys work. It sucks it worked great for 2 days.
SadPandazThanks @SadPandaz as it is the most clear tutorial I have had on how to configure the KB. It is so nice now. It even makes working volume UP and DOWN on my Mac.
Ah! question: is there a way to control not only the LED on individual keys but also the LED incorporated in the PCB (the ones that work with the remote-control)?
DanielFerrerThere is, someone else on the drop made their own thread on it. Just scroll around a little more, they explain what they did. It's been a while so I can't quite recall who it was.
